How did your computer behave and do you remember what sites you were on before you realized you had the infection? I've been getting a keylogger on mine, which has caused me more than enough trouble with an online account that I have but managed to erase it through Spybot (great program to use by the way). Anyway, the lightning here was about how you described it. Just amazing. Currently working on a video with clips of the best ones.

I use AVAST for real time, run Glary utilities daily, CC cleaner, malwarebytes , Spybot search and destroy. Theres always new smart viruses on the prowl though, so anything can be overtaken I guess. Not sure where it came from but it happened to some other friends on FB from what I read. Could be something new.

Its gushing wind and rain and bolting all around. This is my 4th thunderstorm in the last few hours. Its the biggest.

Ok griping is done! We got nailed and I chased the storm in Hoke County in the Ft. bragg reservation. Definitely have alot of high speed to review to see what I caught also. Some of the most intense and continuous lightning I have ever witnessed. The most curious thing was a lowering under a rain free base over one of the drop zones. Following that when the core of the cells behind it hit I tried to get out of it and there was a 180 degree directional shift in the curtains of rain rather suddenly. It appeared there was some rotation out there. Pics/Vid to come!

EDIT: Had hail too (probably around penny size but couldn't stop where I was to verify that).

I use CCleaner and it does wonders for my PC. I'm missing this storm, the one hitting you, just a mile or two to the SE, again. It's like a 7-10 split here tonight.

They're all free. Just now upgrading firefox, it says there's an important security upgrade necessary, and said that yesterday as well, which I ignored.

I'm sure you can see the lightning out there. I can't wait to upload the vids I got a few minutes ago.

Nothing here so far. Hoping that outflow moving down from the Danville,VA cluster might help fire things up in the Wake/Johnston area. Can see lots of lightning from the complex to the SW down in Southern Pines to F'ville area

Here are some pics I caught at the drop zone off King Rd. in the Ft. Bragg Reservation in Northern Hoke County near the Moore County Line:

Here is the other pic ( they were too big so I couldn't put em back to back in the same post)

Edit: Holy crap a huge limb just fell out of the tree and just missed the cars.

Very cool pics!!

Great shots Jeremey... defiantly looks like you got a wall cloud and perhaps a brief funnel. The lightning shot is absolutely sick, but seems rather close too yikes.png

Well looks like due to Windows Movie Maker's actions, I can't get the video made like I wanted to earlier.:gun_bandana: Next time, I shouldn't assume that it will save my project file completely without running into some kind of error (which unfortunately deleted my files in the process for some odd reason).

Aside from that, just got another terrific thunderstorm. A lot more lightning and stronger winds (50mph peak gust) with very heavy rain. Minor damage around the yard.

Phil I believe it was. It had structure and some rotation. When I hit the rain I had a 180 shift in direction of the curtains while in the core.

Here's my video of some of the storms here in Spartanburg County, SC earlier this evening. At the end, there looks to be some supercellish type structure, but my battery ran out as I was time lapsing. As it got closer, it had a really nice shelf cloud and I got a pretty decent lightning shot. Those pics will be up later.

Drove southbound through NC on I-95 this afternoon and evening. Some of northern part had very smelly, dense smoke...looked like fog for a few miles at around 4 PM. Temp.'s were in high 80's. Further south in C NC, temp.'s rose quickly to the high 90's to as high as 100 F just north of the Fayetteville area and then into Fayetteville. Stopped there for supper 5:30-6:15. Was thundering with a few drops of rain at 5:30 PM. Quite threatening when leaving but still little rain. Found out later that up to ~5" of rain fell starting soon leaving there and through the evening. Whew...i didn't want to have to drive through that. Lucked out!

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING

Wow. I'm a little more than three miles west of downtown GSO and we had a good rain over the past hour. Probably one of the best storms in several weeks. It seems that we've had this bubble over us lately blocking out any significant precipitation.

I was hoping that this storm would make its way up to Alligator River NWR and drop a load of much-needed rain on the fire over there. But, alas, it appears to be petering out around Wilson and Goldsboro the last I looked.

I've got 3/4's of an inch in my gauge since March 3rd, and 90% of that came Friday night in a 10 minute deluge. I'm beginning to think there is some kinda of secret weapon the Navy is testing that is keeping the precip from coming over my 5 square mile area. The last ripple of a low that came through over the weekend, I swear on radar their was a nice bow echo pushing out of a longlived MCS squall all t0he way to the coast just south of 26 going into Charleston. The north side of the bow stopped when it hit Lake Marion and the convection back built west and south. I wasn't seeing things, the left flank of that bow echo literally stopped and moved back west. There is a small section of central Charleston county that's had measurable rain twice in the last 4 or five months. The people and the animals in this small area are drastically changing their behavior to adapt to this. Go 5 miles in any direction and the amount of rain over the last 90 days increases 100 %. We have an urban micro-climate here that could be studied just as the micro-climates of different heights of giant Pacific Redwoods are studied. It's really interesting to me anyway ;) Especially since I get only water from rain barrels and other sources collected from what would have been runoff. Between the 1st of Feb and the 1st of March I filled 175 gallons in my rain barrels, they were full. From around March 10th to the end of April that 150 gallons was enough for our flower beds and garden, It's gone now lol. Now were sprayin city water just to keep the grass green enough that the HOA don't fine us. Many studies have been done on the micro-climates that exist in other biological sustaining areas, but never one around us. I find it interesting that for the most part, the micro climate we're I live is non existent for my friend who lives 10 miles up 526. Any way, that's the way I look at the big pictures and I really love to learn and exchange ideas ;)

Peace and Carrots
