Well, it's the off season and I'm sure as heck enjoying the downtime.  Last season just about did me in-- sucked me dry.

But to warm winter hearts, I did create this hawt 1-minute video-- basically, chase porn + metal.  Or, my last decade of chasing in 57 seconds.  Enjoy!

Really fantastic video, Josh. Many thanks for sharing it.

P.S.  Sitting here on my 'puter at 3 AM at only 3 DEGREES, waiting for MORE SNOW...sigh...

So excited to see you this year, Eleanor!!

Hey, thanks, Don!  So glad you dig it.  :)  I hope to see you at the Conference this year-- would be awesome to meet in person finally! :)

Hey, guys! Sorry I've been a little scarce this season. :)

Yes, I am, indeed, chasing Typhoon NEOGURI. (By the way, I got some flak from a few people for not chasing ARTHUR. This is partly why-- because the team and I saw this brewing in the models and I didn't want to stretch myself thin with the Carolinas storm and miss this beast.)

I'm in Naha right now-- the main city on Okinawa Island. Blazingly hot and humid today-- just total harshness. James, Mark, and I are once again joining forces-- we make a good team.

Methinks the JTWC is a tad bullish bringing a Cat 5 up here, but I certainly think a solid Cat 4 is a good possibility. The big topic of discussion tonight: which island to ride this out on. There are several choices, and it will depend on subtle indications in the modeling-- the little microtrends and so on. Y'all know what a fine art this becomes-- weighing the conflicting signals and getting into that perfect position for the core.

Anyhoo, it's early afternoon Sunday here-- we'll probably decide in the morning and hop on another plane, if necessary.

Ah, island chasing-- the thing I always said I'd never do. :D

I think Josh has learned the power of social media after his incredible chase last year. The media, weather enthusiasts, and emergency officials can all easily monitor social media for the latest information and reports. He could just as easily be busy, but I wouldn't be surprised if he now focuses most of his online efforts on his growing brand on social media.

Moving to social media also cuts down on having to deal with the manufactured controversies that inevitably follow a chase.
