mappy
dp's could be around 80-81 in certain areas, but I'd highly doubt it. Martin's DP is always high, but thats a location thing, and KDMH (MD sci ctr) is probably attributable to the urban heat island effect and as stated it is the city. Anything above 81 would have to be checked out. DP at the Science Center is 75. I wouldn't be posting it if it was in the 80s

mattie g
I think it went up, but im not sold I think your ob was on a west wind. Mine came from a south wind coming over an outgoing tide in Alexandria. Defnitely.

FrederickWX
With the high DPs, it will be interesting to see the temperature mins tonight, and especially tomorrow night for DCA, BWI, and IAD. Maybe an 82 or 83 for the city?

CranberryWX
no even Baltimore science center is not trustworthy IMO My reply was just tongue in cheek, not to be construed as "my obs is better than yours" thank you CRW's DP can never seem to get above 75. The official staion is on top of a hill at the airport with no trees, mostly pavement I assume, and where no one lives. Seems like most DPs at the PWS's in the valleys around here are around 80. That's where most of the people are experiencing the HI.
TalcottWx
With that said.. its damn hot here one way or another.. and the forecasts for today here seem to be spot on by the NWS
snownut
Tied my highest time since buying the property in July 2005 at 95.3 today. Also my first high temp above 90 this year. 90.0 before today Tomorrow will be my personal record high???

LVblizzard
Heat index right now is in the low 110s where I am on the Howard campus. I've never experienced anything this hot and humid. Surprisingly, it doesn't feel bad at all, not even in long pants. I think I'm crazy.

RIC_WX
Even typically hot JYO appears to have leveled off at 99 after a NWS prog of 102. Hot yes but not living up to the hype so far IMO. We'll see what Friday brings for the main event.
ThreeRedheads
today was the hottest I have ever felt it in DC in 23 years. the air temp has been hotter but I don't think I have ever felt a higher heat index here. it rivals the hot days I felt in New Orleans and Savannah when I was there during heat waves. I wonder if we will hit 100 at KMRB--99/65 3:53 per NWS. I went to a softball tournament in Andalusia, Alabama two years ago and it was the hottest I've ever been! Today reminded me of the oppressive humidity down there. Looks like DCA hit 98. IAD and BWI look to be at 99.

Jebman
While some are plausible... agree 100% Anything with 80+ dews should be tossed and/or HEAVILY scrutinized as with any station that's 4+ degrees above any of the "regular" stations (DCA, IAD, BWI). I would like to respectfully submit that Dale City does not have to deal with a nearby RIVER that modifies temps - while DCA DOES have to contend with the POTOMAC It was hot as hell out there this afternoon - at least 100 degrees with dews easily in the 77 to 79 degree range at least 99 degrees for a high with 77 dews Even the NWS is calling for high 90s with an EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING and HI's near
