mappy
I see alot of 103/104's for BWI in the contest thread for Friday... higher temps there than at DCA? I dunno if I can buy that... If it's going to be hot, might as well go with extremes.

MN Transplant
No real changes with the 12Z GFS. 850s still 24°C on Thurs/Fri, slightly backing off on Sat. The NAM wants to cloud us up for Saturday, and caps the temp rise, so we'll have to keep our eyes on that.
mattie g
Ugh. Forgot that this was this weekend. Was reading a story in the Post about how the "actors" that come hope they aren't the ones that die early in the battle, and then have to stay on the ground for 90 minutes. Imagine that in this weather in full dress. My uncle is a re-enactor. I'll ask how he fared!

MN Transplant
really?....guidance and forecasts were all mid 90s...I am pretty sure we will max out at 94-95 Yeah, the last 14 runs of the GFS had 93 or lower. The last couple of days worth of runs had Tues warmer than Wed, so this isn't unexpected. Plus, S winds.

catoctin wx
FDK 100 @2pm usually I'm pretty quick to defend FDK for their off temperatures, but I think today they may be out in left field. not even the weatherbug or wundermap stations are close. OHSnow
FDK 100 @2pm Wow, and TWC has Frederick reaching 104, 106, 100, and 100 the next four days. That 106 is only three shy of the state record, set at Frederick and Cumberland in 1936. http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/USMD0161
TradeWinds
usually I'm pretty quick to defend FDK for their off temperatures, but I think today they may be out in left field. not even the weatherbug or wundermap stations are close. I agree. They are usually 2 or 3 degrees warmer than other airports. 2F or 3F I can occasionally buy given their location at the base of the catoctins and currently because of how dry it is. I go by the wunderground sites especially the MDDOT. The US340/180 one is within a mile from my house and it seemed accurate until about a month ago. Temps are ok but the dewpoint is wacky (currently 94F/82F...uh, no). Now I use the I-70/Monacacy which is probably a third of a mile from FDK airport. It currently reads 95F/74F for a heat index of 106F. BTW, the average temp around Frederick weather stations is 96F. So mid-90s seems to be the agreed to temp around Frederick, not the 100F at KFDK. Basically, if you are linked by Drudge and have a comments section, a bunch of wackjob conservatives are going to post there.
