Dark Energy
I really wouldn't go past day 5 to be honest, or at least put much stock into anything past day 5. I agree to a point. With the trof enveloping the NE upcoming. You can do a persistance foreacst easy. But other than that, its game over usually in this pattern. I did a forecast tnt for my nymetro wx blog and the GFS/Euro had some agreement but again, that was due to the big trof over the NE and it was pretty easy to forecast. The other night it was a disaster. Ridges out west displaced and everything.
Dark Energy
Areas will see 30s for highs this week for sure under the cold pool aloft. I started another thread saying the GFS mos was out to lunch for the NYC metro as it had 40s. LOL. Def an early feel of winter across the area. Brisk 2! phlwx
earthlight isn't discouraged, which is good. Maybe the Euro and GFS are both playing to their biases (one too cold/suppressed and one too warm.) It's 10 days out...why would anyone be discouraged about a storm in fantasyland? Alpha5
Either way the euro has a big storm the last few runs, GFS has been week and OTS at 0z and 6z
NEG NAO
Either way the euro has a big storm the last few runs, GFS has been week and OTS at 0z and 6z for this time frame the mid - month storm too far off the east coast is right where we want it at to 9 - 10 days away - who wants to be in a bulls eye this far out ???? No one.... Anyone notice that this storm keeps getting pushed back on the models? Its understandable I guess as the models get a grip on this threat
