Jonbo
I'm more concerned about how long the line will be sitting over the river basically. Levee's near Council Bluffs are already being tested hard.
Jim Marusak
just looking at the composite radar here (courtesy of the nws, via screenshot from my desktop), a system this magnitude makes you humble in the extent of mother nature's fury.
OceanStWx
Nice punch of high winds through Pisgah, Iowa. Could be a candidate for a squall line tornado warning soon.

RobertSul
Looks like a classic MI warm front setup to me... Is that a good thing? Or is it going to be another highly conditional set-up?

SEMIweather
Is that a good thing? Or is it going to be another highly conditional set-up? I think it looks pretty good as long as we don't get a ton of storms in the morning, which doesn't look likely attm.

cyclone77
3 tors on the day thus far... Just passed Sean Casey and the TIV. Congrats! Wish I was out there. My chasing's done for the season unless there's a weekend or local evening chase. Too much crap going on at work unfortunately. Looks like the morning MCS train held on just long enough to keep northeast Illinois and northern Indiana from destabilizing as much as they could have. Surely would have been some nice sups out that way with more instability. As expected further to the west in our area the mid-level ridging and increasing H7 temps kept this part of the warm front idle. Even with decent destabilization. Some elevated showers continually try to pop in this area, but that's about it.

TimChgo9
First guess would be a MCS to come rolling through in the morning, then clearing and possible svr storms in the evening. That is, if the area clears out quick enough. We were sunny by mid afternoon after this morning's MCS.

wisconsinwx
The normally overdone RUC has over 5000 J/KG of CAPE surging as far north as MKE and FDL. Even for this bullish model, I'm pretty sure I haven't seen those kinds of numbers up here yet. It also develops numerous convection over the Western Lakes.
