NaoPos
Also, SPC has indicated a slight risk for our area @ thr 1124 update: ...DELMARVA TO SOUTHWEST NEW ENGLAND... A RATHER STRONG SHORTWAVE TROUGH IS ROTATING EASTWARD ACROSS NY/PA THIS MORNING. WIDESPREAD CLOUDS AHEAD OF THIS TROUGH HAVE LIMITED DAYTIME HEATING IN THE WARM SECTOR...OVER PARTS OF NY/PA/NY/DE. HOWEVER...CLEARING SKIES ARE EXPECTED TO OVERSPREAD THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON ALLOWING A FEW HOURS OF HEATING. MODELS ARE IN GENERAL AGREEMENT THAT SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THIS REGION BY MID-LATE AFTERNOON. FORECAST SOUNDINGS SHOW FAVORABLE VERTICAL SHEAR PROFILES FOR ORGANIZED OR EVEN SUPERCELL STORM STRUCTURES. THE MAIN UNCERTAINTY REMAINS THE DEGREE OF DESTABILIZATION THAT WILL OCCUR. THERE APPEARS TO BE SUFFICIENT RISK TO INTRODUCE A SMALL SLIGHT RISK IN THIS AREA. LOCALLY DAMAGING WINDS AND HAIL WOULD BE POSSIBLE IN THE STRONGER AND MORE ORGANIZED CELLS. ..HART/HURLBUT.. 08/09/2011 2% tornado, 15% wind and Hail

SouthernNJ
Went just south of my area of Swedesboro on a hill to video the impending storm just before 1 PM. Saw some interesting clouds and lightning...possibly even a funnel cloud. It was not long lasting, but radar data that I reviewed when I got back showed a mesocyclone in the area at the time. FUCK JOE BIDEN
1.2" still raining, 4 storms have rolled through with a break in between. Should allow for the ground to soak up instead of running off into the creeks.

greg ralls
BTW, is it time to close this old thread now that it's over 50 pages and start a new one? The subject line talking about storms in July is confusing, anyway.

Ralph Wiggum
Possible funnel caught on camera while chasing today. Didn't make it to Wilmington fast enough but was able to document a funnel just West of Vineland at 222PM. Pics being sent to NWS and local news...will post later. And to whom it may concern...5 post ban still? Seriously?
