Stormpc
You're in the Montclair area, right? Around Silvan Glen or so if I remember. I'd call it 'run of the mill' for Southbridge for round 1. Oh boy, I think I spoke too soon. I think I heard a gust of wind, and the lightshow is now starting! Yeah. Around the corner from the firehouse, near Cardinal. Lots of tree damage from the 7/3 storm in this section of Montclair. Damaging hail from the 6/9/11 storm. Been an active season here. Just goes to show how hit and miss it is. WinterWxLuvr
The storm that just affected all you guys in the DC area really put on a light show here in Winchester while it was over YOUR area. It looked like a strobe light. No thunder, of course, as it was too far away, but a cool light show. We really aren't getting much in the way of thunder and lightning here. We've had a bunch of rain the past 10 days or so, but very little in the way of thunder and lightning.

Damaging hail from the 6/9/11 storm. Been an active season here. Just goes to show how hit and miss it is. Tell me about it! Southbridge, Hampstead Landing area, with a scenic view of the junkyard at Rt 234 and Rt 1 from my front porch. Soooo thankful for the rain, but if you were looking for severe, you needed to look past my house. Good amount of rain, just letting up now. Hit and miss is an understatement around these parts! We saw this coming for 90 minutes and you still ventured out? Good stuff Jeb. In tomorrow's Washington Post: "Woodbridge man killed by lightning strike. Emergency Response team finds bearded hippie man washed into culvert with an ELO tune blasting through the headphones. He was unresponsive, and pronounced Jeb at the scene." Avdave
Wow, they were stacking them up on the east side and west side of Richmond, VA when the flights were coming up from the south and southeast tonight as that line slammed KIAD. also any flight from the midwest on its way in was stuck circling over WVA and Eastern Ohio regions for a little while. Air traffic is just getting caught up now at IAD with a handful of delays still.

A good night for local O/D traffic to be queued for battlefield upgrades. Sadly, the reverse will be true for tomorrow's re-bookings as those left behind tonight are foraging for whatever few seats remain unsold.

LVblizzard
I'm in DC with a group of 12 other weather weenies. The lightning was pretty crazy and I can still see some off to the east. Other than that really nothing special.

Yeah tomorrow morning will be interesting when I get into work there as to what was missed/canceled, etc. Normally most of the internationl arrivals come in between 2-6pm and then they can make their domestic connection, If they missed their domestic connection it is easier to rebook them since there is more flights on that route than say International. This morning, not sure what happened, but in Terminal B there was a group literally camped out at the gate, looked like a homeless camp. but on that note I am off to bed to get up early in the morning.
