ThePhotoGuy
It was a nice storm. Nice lightning. Not that strong or severe.
LVblizzard
I'm in DC with a group of 12 other weather weenies. The lightning was pretty crazy and I can still see some off to the east. Other than that really nothing special.
caviman2201
Nothing severe about that storm, but probably the most amazing light show I've seen in a looong time...
Avdave
Sounds like a lot of missed international connections perhaps for the late bank of overseas TATL departures. A good night for local O/D traffic to be queued for battlefield upgrades. Sadly, the reverse will be true for tomorrow's re-bookings as those left behind tonight are foraging for whatever few seats remain unsold. Yeah tomorrow morning will be interesting when I get into work there as to what was missed/canceled, etc. Normally most of the internationl arrivals come in between 2-6pm and then they can make their domestic connection, If they missed their domestic connection it is easier to rebook them since there is more flights on that route than say International. This morning, not sure what happened, but in Terminal B there was a group literally camped out at the gate, looked like a homeless camp. but on that note I am off to bed to get up early in the morning. CranberryWX
Wow! Great storm, the best of the year. We just got our cable and internet back up. Electric went out for a while when it came through at 6PM. Not much wind, but heavy rain, a lot of lightning and house shaking thunder. It put down 1.01" of rain in about 20 minutes. Another line is dropping SE out of Ohio, almost similar to the last one. It should be here within the hour.
BethesdaWX
Very nice storm for sure in regards to the gust front, but had more bark than bite....winds strong enough to make me cringe a few times, trees had a rough go at it but made through unharmed. Neighbors trash wasn't so lucky though, scattered in the street and peoples yards. Not much lightning though, nothing compared to Electric Friday last week. CranberryWX
A second storm came through just after midnight putting down another 0.78"...both storms 1.79". The midnight storm rumbled in the distance for over an hour after it passed through. I would expect more today in this very moist airmass. The sun is out this morning baking the wet ground...DP should be high again today.

tamerakitten
The Sharpsburg raindome is still in place!! We got NUTHIN last nite! It rained to the north, south, east and west. We got a few measly rumbles, a flash of lightening and then nada. This is getting ridiculous
Scuddz
We lost power at the bar last night, it's hard to play pool in the dark. Luckily only lasted about 2 minutes, not enough time to sneak a keg out the back...

EastCoast NPZ
Not a drop of rain in Stephens City, and not a rumble of thunder. Storms developed off to our east, south, and north as they always seem to do. And in last weeks "active" weather, we got a whopping .5" inches on Friday, and nothing else. After a wet April and May, it has been downright arid here. High of 98 yesterday, combined with no storms; it was just miserable.

CranberryWX
the sunset out here tonight is spectacular--the clouds are so red it looks like a volcano. I just tried to take some photos from the train but the camera cannot pick up the saturation plus the moving train blurs it. Last evening after the 6PM storm moved on, the sun broke through just as it was setting. The light from it was surreal. Everything seemed to be bathed in a greenish-yellow light...almost like looking through yellow shades. It made features extra sharp and pop out. The dark storm clouds to the south and east must have had something to do with it.
RIC Airport
Looks like Richmond will record an overnight low of 80 or higher for the first time ever. It does not look like RIC will drop below 80 degrees between now and 1am. Quite amazing this was a record that has maintained itself for so long going back 114 years.
