we missed out on the first round today, but I think we'll get a good soaking tomorrow. I swear I had a freak heavy shower Tuesday night/Wednesday morning as the street was wet and all the bird crap was washed clean off my car, but none of the wxunderground stations or airport recorded it (or maybe it was super heavy fog?).

I'm also happy it'll be cooler tomorrow as we're doing the inspection on our <fingers crossed> new house in the late afternoon so it'll be bearable to be outside, even if it's raining.

Good luck on that RE deal. You would be in a nice spot up there. I met a guy who lives in one of those homes; sold him our pool table for his basement. Liked his place a lot.

Up to 1.75" on the day, and currently getting raked.

Guess I know where the expression where it rains it pours comes from. I have yet to receive a thunderstorm this YEAR in Charles. Everything has missed me. So sad how dry it is and yet in Hagerstown it rains every day!

I feel your pain. I am sitting here watching all the lightning and seeing near HGR get 5" plus. Flash flood warning just to my south. Me 0" rolleyes.gif

Yea, I have had storm after storm pass my house by 1 or 2 miles....maybe even less than a mile on 1 and didn't get but 5 drops literally. Unreal.

It stormed for a good hour in Cockeysville last night, loud crack of thunder woke me up around 1215, storm lasted until at least 1am (when I fell back asleep). Trees were down in the area this morning. Winds must have been wicked as our entire balcony was soaked this morning and the flowers look like they got their asses handed to them. Oh and our kitchen window leaks... hoping for more today!

After looking at radar, seems the storm popped up around 1115 and more or less stalled over top of me until 1245ish

I'm in Sharpsburg and my JUNE total rainfall was only 1.01 inches. I watch it rain all around me and we only get thunder, lightening and if we are LUCKY---3 rain drops.

We got some heavy rain about 2am this morning--forgot to check the rain gauge before I went to work.

I think the rainshield is right over me!

Interesting...from seeing radar, it always seems the rain is right over your area and then it falls apart as it crosses into the Frederick area. It's not just you or me though...check out http://water.weather.gov/precip and look at the last 60 days for our area. I'm just right of the blue dot which is 1.0" in the last 60 days. Yesterday's action was in Southern PA and given the pattern this summer, I wouldn't be surprised to see today's action in Northern VA. Just a reality...like my high water bill. lol

A little bit of sun broke through in downtown Baltimore in the last hour. Clouding back up now. Not sure how much sun this morning will be needed to help prime the atmospohere.

It's been hazy sunny most of the morning down this way. I hope any sun will help.

It's crazy--it will be pouring 2 miles up sharpsburg pike (towards Hagerstown) and nothing in sharpsburg. Last nite the 6pm storm dumped rain all around--1/2 mile away (SE) had like .7 inches in less then 20 minutes-- we got the thunder and lightening and maybe 10 rain drops.

I'm skeered to see my water bill......
