Ellinwood
Please elaborate. No. :hitler: ...okay fine. Just because the computer decided to put a TVS on a storm doesn't mean the storm's actually rotating (or even has a strong rotation)... in this case it was completely off, as there was no clear rotation on the cell but instead just updraft and downdraft winds that were close enough to each other on a few levels to get a TVS. Conversely, often there are tornadic storms that never get a TVS put on them because the computer can't see the broader rotation outside of the gate-to-gate shear. It's all in this handy-dandy presentation: http://www.wdtb.noaa...n21/player.html hmm my crappy cell phone vid has 3,500 views. oh internets you confuse me. s*** happens when it gets put in an article. FrederickWX
Some isolated storms this afternoon, at least for areas further south/east in the region? The storms out in Ohio seem to have an eye for areas just south of DC.

H2O
we've got drier air filtering in better now, front must be at least drifting south. Didn't the AM disco mention the dry slot from the OV system? LWX still seemed optimistic about afternoon storms around here.

Jebman
Frontal boundaries love the mid atlantic this season - lots of storms. Here it is early July and lawns are still green - crews that mow medians are struggling to keep up. Better get your mower tuned up - this pattern ain't letting up anytime soon

mattie g
I haven't mowed that much... I probably didn't need to do it that much, but did it anyway. Last time was two weeks ago, and I probably won't have to mow again before this coming weekend. Garden's looking good though.

southbridgemom
Your guess is as good as mine. Just looked at WxUnderground radar. ASSUMING (dangerous, I know) that the current line holds together (hahahaha), it looks like Southern Prince William, Stafford and south COULD be in for it. BUT, a lot of things would have to come together for it all to happen. What basis do I have for this opinion? Nothing. Just intuition. So we'll see....
