This is kind of guesswork-ish but with the south and central US in such a drought, I don't see how we don't get heat ridges that spill hot air into the region....we could end up in the low 90s tomorrow and Sunday as well...

Yeah, I have a hard time not seeing it pulse up here and there throughout the summer. The main thing that might save us from a last yr is if there are sizeable breaks in between. I was wondering how this yr compares to some of the dust bowl years patternwise. Might have to look.

yes...the breaks might help...notice the GFS puts the ridge right over the core of the drought...will have to look at other years, but how do we keep those air masses away?

Too bad we already busted!

Overall, a much better showing by our group than the awful lows contest a little while ago.

I know I came in third in that and I feel I could've done better in that. Good showing but not nearly as good as this one. Hoping for my first win. 2 thirds and a second in past ones.
