on_wx
Hopefully SSC checks in. SSC is on the western side of Toronto, but in his area or just north of his area about 650pm a guy I know spotted a possible rotating wall cloud near York University. There are multiple units on scene near York right now. Chainsaws being requested right now in Toronto, also some ambulances are being dispatched to damage areas. A-L-E-K
No doubt a lot of lightning from these storms. Check out this persons lightning detector: http://wx.w0wdx.com/wxwasp2.php Nice, this kind of setup always delivers the electricity.

baroclinic_instability
Hopefully SSC checks in. My bet is SSC is in the midst of his summer slumber still recovering from following 100 winter storm threats.

wisconsinwx
I'm in Madison. Very threatening right now, lots of lightning. I can only imagine. It's cloudy right now and almost foggy in the Milwaukee area, but I'm hoping to drive a little west and catch a glimpse of some darkening skies before the sun sets. cyclone77
That cell near Vinton looks pretty strong. 70kts about 7700' AGL near Vinton. Looks like the north side of Cedar Rapids could get some strong winds within the hour.

wisconsinwx
Tornado warning in Madison now. I do see a little notch apparent on radar, although I think it might be a tad east of where they say the tornado should be.

Mogget
If there's a tornado around here somewhere, it's rain-wrapped and moving in total darkness. And I do see what might be power flashes to the west. Might be. I'm no trained spotter.
Thundersnow12
the big storms in WI will miss here to the north easily. Hoping the eastern IA storms can develop a cold pool and bow out, we'll see. I'd take a good lightning show.
hawkeye_wx
We just got a period of strong wind from the outflow, 40+ mph, but it looks like all the heavy stuff will miss me to the north. There is a break in the line a couple counties west so it's possible I may not get anything out of this.

wisconsinwx
Finally starting to get dark and hearing dim thunder in the background. Looks like a convective mess coming in, perhaps followed by some serious storms if the rain and storms ahead of it doesn't stabilize the atmosphere. cyclone77
a big fatty HP supercell going strong, can see the spin with it on base ref just looping the radar. Yeah it was interesting watching that tiny little cell pop up on the west side of Cedar Rapids, and then move north and merge with the big one from the west. Once the big cell ate the smaller one the couplet on the main cell rapidly intensified.

kevlon62
Wonder if there is anything left of that boundary over Walworth etc. Nothing showing on radar but it was still showing there just over an hour ago. Would be another possible interaction point in S. WI.

Thundersnow12
The bow really starting to take off in southern WI and getting a bit of a southeast movement. UGN might have to deal with this in a few hours. I'm liking the look of the storms in eastern IA and hope they can maintain themselves over the next few hours. The 21z RUC really improves instability over north-central/northeast IL over the next few hours, keeps 3500 j/kg in the area till after 6z. Outflow is starting to race out ahead of the Anamosa/Cedar Rapids storm, so i'm not sure it will be maintained. OFB from the S. Wisconsin bow is pushing SE through NW. Illinois.
