StormSurge
Mashantucket FD serves you guys, gonna make a call. No, that was awhile ago. 12 is closed on both directions. But thanks for looking out! I live off Iron St., right near Ledyard Center.
wxmanmitch
That was impressive damage, seen two of the best photos today, you and Gene , just fantastic. Some of the wood shrapnel from the lightning hitting the tree goes all the way to other side of the yard probably 80-90 feet away.

Mips
What are the chances the stuff currently in NH moves on down with some strong storms? Stuff is hitting the border, heading SE as I type. Radar view is winking out.
HIPPYVALLEY
For me pretty good I think. Greenfield, Orange, Gardner, Fitchburg might get in on it... Maybe you if that holds together... All set with more . I just got power back an hour ago. Got some great video of the front coming in. I'll post as soon as it's up on youtube. As soon as he was finished w/ my crown I jumped in the car and drove up to Poet's Seat on Rocky Mt. and started shooting. Timing couldn't have been better. HIPPYVALLEY
20,000 were w/o power for a while in W. Ma. That's pretty significant. We were out for about 4 hours but some areas are still down.
Mr. Windcredible!
Not many tree down reports in CT in Box or Upton storm reports, odd? I noticed that as well...seems to be a void of reports from SE CT. I wasn't in the area, but I know some friends who had trees blocking their road in Essex...and there were quite a few outages down that way. Are there really no dedicated spotters/observers in that part of the state?

When the gust front rolled through I thought I'd be calling Upton, but no dice.
Collinsville
This storm will be remembered by me for how ridiculously dark in was at 5pm as it moved in. It looked like it was 9pm at night.

I read on Boston.com last night 38,000 at one point throughout the state. meh... Neat storm... The edge of it when it was rolling over my house (posted a short video yesterday) was very interesting. Great thunder on the backside. Very louder, deeper than the leading edge. Wonder why that happens.
klw
Based on the high dew points, it looks like the front did not clear the south coast. Any chance you folks have surprise storms firing up down in SNE today?

SJonesWX
Storm came through here mid afternoon. .43" of rain and winds gusting into the 30's. Lost power during the storm and Im on generator now. Nice average thunderstorm, nothing severe. Grabbed my camera as the squall line was moving over Newfound Lake here in Central NH. Gene, that is a fantastic pic! H2Otown_WX
Yeah it was the darkest I've ever seen it pre-thunderstorm Agreed. Your boss had a good explanation for that. I'd say that was probably the worse thunderstorm I've seen, at least that I can remember. Branch came down and hit my parked car. Also, lightning struck the house and blew out our splitter in the basement for internet, cable and phone.
