interesting to see how this morning activity plays around with the afternoon stuff. some pluses and minuses to this, imo.

i'd guess the cloud debris is out of the way relatively early this morning, but it still probably serves to knock at least a couple of degrees of the afternoon high for some areas...at least across C/E MA/RI/NH. but despite some cooler readings, at the same time this complex is adding some moisture to the BL.

Hopefully this stuff leaves by 10ish. It seems to want to back build and sag south a bit as well. Also, gonna be interesting to see the 12z soundings upstream to see of that convection over Chicago screwed around with the lapse rates.

Best chance for severe in NE today?

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE SAINT LAWRENCE

VALLEY AND NORTHERN NEW YORK LATE THIS MORNING AND QUICKLY BECOME

SEVERE. THESE STORMS WILL TRACK EAST INTO THE CHAMPLAIN VALLEY AND

MOST OF VERMONT DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS TODAY AND DEPART THE

REGION BY EARLY THIS EVENING.

THE PRIMARY THREAT WILL BE STRONG AND DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70

MPH...ALONG WITH HAIL UP TO GOLF BALL SIZE. IN ADDITION...THESE

STORMS WILL CONTAIN FREQUENT AND DANGEROUS CLOUD TO GROUND

LIGHTNING ALONG WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IN A SHORT PERIOD OF
