Logan11
Stormy time of the year to take a radar down ...but maybe they figure its better than doing it during severe season. 24 and ovc here. Looks like the witches brew of all P types here tomorrow. For this season I'll take any interesting winter wx. I was on a hike to the 3200 foot level near Woodstock, NY the other day and only a few old snow patches in the deep woods. Even the higher Catskills are barren....though the next week should at least get them some. IrishRob17
Blah, blah, blah. It's all I have to say about this crappy pattern. I can say at least it doesn't get to me as much as it did when I was younger. I still dislike the lack of snow but do not get nearly as worked up as in the past. snywx
So I went to drop off my son @ school this morning & noticed quite a few cars with snow on them coming from the west on Rt 6. Decided to take a 5 min ride to Mountain rd ( 1200') and whatta ya know.. there was about 1.5" still on the ground! Now im curious as to how much they actually received up there last night before the changeover. As for mby we only received about 0.5" before the changeover. A big job for sure, they could be there for days. I guess it's about a mile from my house. The smoke was impressive all day. There was still a glow in the sky early this evening. Below is a clip from youtube. This person took eight videos. Got to feel for the firefighters. And temps down in the single digets for the overnight. IrishRob17
I saw that too, they got some good footage, they saw the smoke from the GW. I had to chuckle when one of them said that they couldnt pump from the creek because the water was too cold...the fire dept was indeed drafting from the creek. xram
I live about about a mile and a half west of the complex. Good thing the winds were northerly in nature. Drove through town last night which was down wind and the air was mildly smokey. My water pressure took a hit all day yesterday due to the fire.
