We had a T storm about an hour + ago as the line now along the HV was in it's birth process.

I see the best line is now from central Columbia down through Dutchess and POU to just above SWF.

It brightens up for a only a very few seconds now and then thru cloudy skies, temp here dropped a degree. I think there are too many little areas of showers to let the skies clear in orange co atm in NW jersey and eastern Pa. Ulster Co and north and east are having a loud late morning early afternoon. Waiting on the SPC WRF

Yep. Models have been trending east with the cyclone, and while I doubt we end up with a Cat 2 sitting just to our east, I think we could end up with substantial impacts from the storm. Especially given all the heavy rain lately.

The NHC has been adjusting its 5 day track cone more northerly

AT CHAPPEQUA...WE VISITED KIPP STREET NEAR THEINTERSECTION OF QUAKER ROAD (ROUTE 120) WHICH WAS PARTIALLY CLOSED. IN ADDITIONTO DOWNED LARGE TREE BRANCHES...THERE WERE AT LEAST 2 LARGE DOWNED TREES. PEAKWIND GUSTS WERE ESTIMATED AT 60 TO 70 MPH. STRAIGHT LINE WIND DAMAGE OCCURRED.

AT PLEASANTVILLE...WHERE THE MOST SIGNIFICANTTHUNDERSTORM WIND DAMAGE OCCURRED...PEAK WIND GUSTS WERE ESTIMATED AT 70 TO 80MPH BETWEEN 300 AND 500 WASHINGTON AVENUE. SEVERAL LARGE TREES AND BRANCHESWERE DOWNED. A FEW TREE TOPS WERE SNAPPED OFF. DAMAGE TO GUTTERS AND BACKYARDDECKS OCCURRED AS A RESULT OF FALLING TREES.
