See I'm the opposite; I'd rather have the big heat come in the high sun angle months of May/June/July, with cooling in August. Same is true with winter, I prefer our coldest/snowiest weather in December and January when the snow is more easily preserved. Basically 2010-2011 was my ideal winter.

The only thing is that it can't get as hot in May and June as it can in August.... because of SST around here. Also, you're not allowed onto the beaches here before June haha.

LOL, I might start posting more when the garden is really going in July and August. Bet you can't wait to see the Striped Zebra tomatoes and the White Eggplant.

You really should have your own gardening show lol. Actually since you're a chef it should be a gardening and culinary show-- grow them, then cook them ;)

Eh I'm not that much of an expert...just try my best. Skierinvermont (Andrew) knows more about gardening than I do by a long shot. He's not a cook though.

I did a really nice sushi platter last night with the help of my dad...made shrimp tempura rolls with mango, cucumber, and fresh arugula...also had salmon avocado rolls, striped bass and cucumber rolls, and some sweet potato tempura. Was a fun dish.

Anyway about the weather...66.2/56, mostly cloudy. Another cool day in Westchester.

TWC now has 97-98 in the forecast (Thursday) for EWR, LGA, JFK, & Central Park.

Edit: I should've put this in the other one. :/

What, for all of them? :o They have me at 94 for Thursday. I bet it's going to be an awesome day :) Everyone needs to go to the beach or be poolside! This is right on target for this area's first 90+ degree day.

Upton are full of morons on there they took thunderstorms out of the forecast for the entire week and predict a dry cold front for Thursday and I see that there at least some thunderstorms for Tuesday and Thursday with the warm front and cold front for Friday.

We need a strong westerly wind by being "on top" of the heat dome a la what happened last summer and 1966.

Yes, and I dont think this setup will produce that, upton agrees despite the point and click being much warmer:

A WEAK COLD COLD FRONT MOVES ACROSS THE AREA TUE NIGHT FOLLOWED BY

HIGH PRESSURE ON WED...THEN A WEAK WARM FRONTAL PASSAGE WED EVENING.

85H TEMPS APPROACH 20C ON THU...WITH HIGHS OF 90 TO 95 NYC METRO AND

AND INLAND...AND 80 TO 85 AT THE COAST.

I don't like they are predicting a dry cold front following with no chance thunderstorms but I see on the models and at least on the GFS saying there could be thunderstorms but not sure what the Euro models says.

This month is starting to remind me a bit of JUNE 1988.brief intense shots of heat folowwed by shots of chilly weather similar to what we are having. That month had several days above 95 degrees and several low temps in the 50s IIRC.It was 54 on JULY 2nd or 3rd right before the 6 week period of unrelenting heat and/or high dewpoints.
