Newark is starting to get ridiculous.

Yeah. Its getting to the point now of being questionnable.

Newark, NYC and LGA average almost the same exact temperatures in July and August.

But the differences this year are insane.

Dont ignore us :P We have gotten to 91 here today (well I have lol) and the temp seems to be bouncing around a lot (currently I have mostly cloudy skies.)

Thats in line with the majority of official stations which range from 87-89 at 12pm, including Atlantic City and TEB.

Newark has been 5 to as much as 8 degrees above its surrounding stations this entire spring and summer.

At that pace, Newark should average 3-5 more degrees then LGA and NYC. And its on every wind. N, E, W and S. Makes no difference.

Officials don't seem to give damn though unless there's all time records being broken ala July 2010.

I just looked at the record daily high temperatures from both Newark and LGA, for the past 20 days.

On almost every single day, the record highs are from the same year. And on every single day, Newark and LGA are within 1-2 degrees of the daily record high. You dont see Newark being 4-8 degrees higher on their record.

Yeah, they do seem to be back to what was going on during the 90s when they were 5-8 degrees higher than anyone else. What are your sky conditions right now? It's mostly cloudy here-- although I cant see any clouds on the satellite? Where did these come from?

Im partly cloudy and 91 degrees at work in Bayside.

Visible satellite shows a few clouds, especially on the south shore.

Average highs over the last 36 days (since June 1):

PHL - 85.7

EWR - 84.3

TTN - 84.1

LGA - 81.2

JFK - 81.0

NYC - 80.9

On these numbers they are running 3-4 degrees above NYC stations.

Its on the heat days though that seems like Newark is always 3-7 degrees higher. Newark on cloudy days is fine and usually is lower then most other surrounding NYC stations.

lol@ NYC's average high being lower than JFK's over the last 36 days. Actually, there isn't a significant difference between NYC-JFK-LGA

EWR is much closer to Trenton (actually hotter than them!)

I've said this before, but if you want to see extreme weather in our area-- EWR is the best place to be. They are hotter in the summer and colder in the winter and get the most out of the big snowstorms too.

Which over a period of 36 days is the way it should be. All 4 stations (JFK, NYC, LGA, EWR) average almost the same daily.

1pm:

NYC: 91

LGA: 87

EWR: 94

JFK: 87

ISP: 90

That looks weird lol-- but I guess LGA is lagging because of the ENE winds there?

And the winds are due north at Islip for some reason, they always switch to southerly later than JFK does (unless there is a backdoor front), even though they are farther out into the Ocean.

Im at 92.5 at work in Bayside.

LGA is definitely being affected by being directly on the water and the NE winds.

but ISP is much further inland that JFK with JFK being right on the bay or built on the bay in reality.

Yup, but if you noticed what was going on in the morning, even Shirley and Westhampton Beach had northerly winds while JFK had already switched to southerly by 11 AM. Im not complaining because I already reached 91 lol-- I guess my being inland by 2.5 miles helped me avoid the sea breeze for long enough to do that. Actually, with the sun out in full force again, the temps are going up again.

Is the JFK ASOS right on the water? I remember someone posting a pic showing it was basically right on the Bay.
