ag3
yes, with CPK's ring of skyscrapers, it's akin to digging a pit and then sticking an anemometer at the bottom and trying to gauge wind direction Looking at Wund PNS sites, most, if not all, Manhattan sites are below 90 right now. From Central Park's 86 to other areas that are 86-89. Im up to 91 now in Bayside, Queens.
A-L-E-X
that's also the reason I give very little credence to snowfall totals from CPK during blizzards...what would would accumulate on the surface areas of all of those skyscrapers instead blows lazily down into the park I'm probably off base with that one, but I like to use it to explain why 14 inches at my house equals 27 in the Park (I live about 1/2 mile from the Park) Meh, for snowfall totals the airports arent very accurate either-- I always talk about the JFK practice of measuring from a roof top lol. A-L-E-X
LGA is currently at their max. Yup, they may have leveled off though... you usually dont see the temp go up between 5 and 6 if it hasnt gone up between 4 and 5. I mean it happens sometimes if there's a question of cloud cover, but not usually on a day like this.
Isotherm
I'm at my high for the day right now, 88.4F. Will definitely fall short of 90 here. My DVP2 is in full sun from sunrise to sunset, but on these borderline NW wind days, shore points tend to be warmer, probably b/c of the downsloping effect. Belmar aiport hit 90F today, and the sea breeze is holding to the immediate shoreline of Monmouth County. Made much further progression inland in SNJ. Yeah you've caught up to me with these dry NW wind days. I'm at 3 90F days as well. My last one was June 9th. Hopefully tomorrow will make it, although I'm up to 88.8 now! Sundog
Give me 90 degree temps like today everyday of the summer. It felt so comfortable outside today and the sky conditions just put you in a good mood. One thing I absolutely hate about NYC summers is that pale gray sky color we all too often get. It's nasty and depressing.

Are you hanging out in the back yard under the canopy and by the pool? Lol. It's very hot in the sun. Sweating hot. In the shade it's nice, but in the sun, it's dripping sweat hot. It may not radiate as well as I had hoped for tonight because of these damned southerly winds. Why did the winds switch from the NW to the S like that so quickly? Last week we held onto the land breeze pretty much all day.

In the shade it's nice, but in the sun, it's dripping sweat hot. I'm at my place dude and I was watering my plants. It feels very pleasant. There's no way you consider this sweating hot in the sun right now. I walked a few blocks before and that dry wind practically dries the sweat before it has a chance to bead on your forehead. Now if it got into the 90s and the wind died and the humidity went up I would be begging for the return to cutoff lows lol. But if you told me every day until Labor Day would be like today I would have no problem with that at all.

Remember the one we hauled up the stairs? That thing is a beast it cools the place down in no time. Of course I'm using a dedicated 220 volt line so you may be limited by your power options.
