weird-- JFK and Newark were both at 87

NYC and LGA were both at 82

So JFK and EWR maxed out on UHI at the same temp and NYC and LGA were cooler and at the same temp because NW winds come off the water in both places (the Hudson River in the case of the park and the Sound in the case of LGA).

EWR probably downsloped.

You're telling me when the breeze dies down it doesn't feel hot in the sun? Sun's just as strong as it would be on a 90 degree day,

You said VERY hot. It feels warmer in the sun but the word VERY is what's puzzling.

Im going to go outside and built a 4 sided wall to block the 20mph winds to see what it would feel like in the sun with no wind :P

Ok, you caught me, I exaggerated a little. :scooter: Just like when its 55 at night and Nzucker needs his electric blankets and slippers on. ;)

Lol he's also at 850mb so you have to remember he doesn't go by surface temps.

Only 77.3F as of 130pm here. Dew point 60, but it still feels very hot in the late June sun, but the breeze is cool.

All you do is stick a thermometer out in the sun to see yes it's very hot when you're sitting in the sun lol

When you superimpose the observations and the KOXK radar you can see the western Suffolk stations are warmer with a lower dew point than the eastern Suffolk stations all because of the sea-breeze front which is slinking across Suffolk County.

Ha it's funny it doesn't reach Nassau County.
