tornadojay
Nice Warm Front convection.. warm fronts seem to be our friend with regard to t-storms... probably some nice low level warm advection taking place, enhancing some lift

tornadojay
Can you explain the significance of what you are showing. thanks. It essentially is acting as a natural boundary which is providing a lifting mechanism for convection. This parameter has a direct relationship with areas of convergence. Provided it's still early today and we haven't seen much sun, there probably is not much in the way of surface based instability, but probably there is some elevated CAPE which is helping out a bit. tornadojay
12Z KOKX RAOB good example showing elevated instability. You can see the low level inversion, followed by a fairly unstable profile above this layer

tornadojay
hmm.. I think my rain guage is clogged.. it's stopped raining for a while, but I'm still adding to the total. Looks like it will be over an inch. I have to clear the debris.. I was wondering why the rainfall rates were rather low.

IsentropicLift
looks like a general area of plain showers are developing now over NJ. I was hoping we could get some son and a bit of destabilization

Stormlover74
One storm in PA looks impressive but the rest of the stuff seems to go north of the area. Was expecting to see more widespread activity in the midatlantic overall that would affect us later.
earthlight
looks like some clearing working in now...that will be enough to get convection going.
