Tropical wave moving through today, it's breezy with widespread showers and thunderstorms.

yes indeed, they started rumbling just offshore here in naples at about 2am, then loud enough to wake me up at 3am. wife woke for work at 715 and said wow did it ever stop from last night lol. followed by what just now can only be described as an uber toad strangler. my brother stopped in for lunch, ccso jammed with alarm calls, several lightning strike victims and multiple road closures due to flooding. bring on 90L please lol. my pregnant wife will love that.

let me know when to put two eyes on this ..... just kidding. second eye has been wavering over

Well the 850 MB vorticity has improved today and the models have initialized this poorly so far. The islands look like they might be the biggest obstacle for 90L. Keeping fingers crossed. Hopefully we can soon have a hurricane party. We can use your cook-out menu, wings, smoked fish and shrimp fried rice.:bike:

Arachnophobia! That is two spideys in a week down there. Not common huh turtle?

I think it might be fairly common, since the sound it made is similar to thunder I've heard many times before. I just usually don't see the lightning that caused it.

The sound it made was like dozens of quick thunder cracks, that combined into one long thunder roll, if that makes any sense.

That makes perfect sense.

I have heard thunder like that up in the mountains and it just goes on forever. Really cool.

Toad strangler due west of me by just a few miles. I am watching it and it is watching me. Neither of us making a move.

Edit ---- Strangler update ---- that toad just west of me sat there for well over an hour and rained itself out. Never moved. I would like to see those totals reported tomorrow. (Western St. Lucie County)

Hot miserable weekend just passed. Nothing down here in the way of rainfall, just hotter and stickier than usual. 90L is progged to throw some moisture up here in the short term (Tuesday night into Wed) so lets hope the flow keeps the storms around the coast, or at least lets some rainfall happen here before moving into the swamp.

Same here, no rain IMBY now for a few day. After today, it does look like the rain chances go up for the next few days.

yes, it has been very quiet and drying out a bit again. I was so upset with the strangler that stalked MBY but never entered on Saturday that I changed my forum name. Hopefully this will entice a few visits hotdog.gif

That's a great Fricking name..

Maybe I should change my name to Florida landfalling hurricanes to entice some visits from the tropics.:weenie:

I truly feel at home here in FL now tongue.gif

Don't fret fl, 8/15 - 10/30 is our prime time. Plenty of action to come and if our BY does not see a system again for the sixth straight season there IS NFL football !

Oh , I am not fretting. I have a feeling the lid will soon come off the tropics .After looking at the the EURO SLP charts for the next few months, plus the fact some pro mets are hyped about the next few months, I have no doubt that Florida will get some action this year. Life is good, main part of cane season will soon be upon us and football season will soon be starting.
