CTNoreaster
Looks like Kevin's EF5 rain wrapped horror verified ... "0120 PM TSTM WND DMG STAMFORD 41.02N 73.56W 06/23/2011 FAIRFIELD CT FIRE DEPT/RESCUE *** 1 FATAL *** TREE DOWN ON CAR AT THE INTERSECTION OF MERRITT PARKWAY AND COUNTY ROUTE 104." Not to nit piks at all, but I would have thought that somebody working for the govt would know that we have no county routes in CT... must be from NY. Logan11
I think the Merrit becomes the Hutchinson River Pkwy in NY. Maybe a few miles of it is still the Merrit. I can see where this would have happened because those old pkwys don't have the width of land on each side as the interstates and trees literally overhang them in places. Not to nit piks at all, but I would have thought that somebody working for the govt would know that we have no county routes in CT... must be from NY. CoastalWx
EC Ensembles also have the chance for some heat around 7/2 or 7/3, so it's possible we have another 1-2 day spell of heat and humidity. It still could very well get cutoff to the southwest too.

RIcoastalWX
63/63 - Thunderstorm for the past 2 hours... just passing 1 inch of rain. Loud long rumbles of thunder primarily overhead and offshore. Nasty afternoon. I can't remember a month that has featured so many thunderstorms and for such long durations. As much as I love the beach, sun and warmth, I'm loving these days of thunder too! ski MRG
The state of Denial has become a lonely Tarmac. No hints of sun anywhere. Lol, Cool and rainy. It is inevitable that we'll have a few warm/hot spells but overall this summer will be cool and rainy. The Mountain Laurel is really beautiful this year, the cool rainy weather has helped the blossoms' longevity. I'll get some pics tomorrow as they are really cool flowers that love rainy weather. I was checking them out earlier as I sat in the Gradall booming some steel into place in the cool, rainy weather. Sunny breaks.lol
