This image reminds me a bit of a SWFE. Notice how the back edge can be compared to in oncoming dryslot where the elements start getting more disorganized, but convective looking. Also, look at the redeveloping heavy elements over ne mass and into NH. There's actually some really good isentropic lift for a summer type system.

Yeah good call. Good sw flow aloft combined with that pseudo 50/50. can picture that air running right up there where you mentioned

Something is seriously messed with those numbers. Its claiming a -10.1F departure in January with an avg temp of 16.6...that means its average Jan temp is 26.7F. ORH's average January temp is 23.6F. So obviously that doesn't add up.

LoL. It's from Steve Sauter's site in Ashfield (which has been off-line for a few weeks for some reason). It's on a NOAA link that appears on his site. I only hit 80 twice in May and 4 times this month so I can't imagine there can much of a positive departure from normal if any. But you're the Met so you tell me. Has the East Slope of the Berkshires seen well above normal temps for the past 3 months as Kevin contends? Of course, I think that assertion is pure poppycock. (Until we get a legit Winter storm threat it's this temp talk that will have to entertain us.) My guess is we are seeing the average for that site and that "average" may be derived from a small sample pool as I'm not sure the site has been active for very long. Either way, I like my call for a cool rainy summer. Seems to be working so far.lol How's the golf game?

The other day in school my class was talking about how they should take away our winter vacation for an extra week in summer vacation because there was "nothing to do in the winter." What a horrible thing to say lol. I wish they would take some of our summer vacation away so I could have more then a week off in the winter. sad.gif

Just thought I'd share because we all wish we could get as much snow as the rain we're getting now. smile.gif 1.11" now.

Nice little explosion of echoes right now. Some of that might be rooted to where surface instability is better, but it is elevated. HRRR had a nice little wind max at 850 coming through, which might be triggering this.

So winter like, one of the better radar nights since winter.

66/65, downpour; .14" in the last 15 minutes to bring us up over an inch. Raining at about .6/hour. ohmy.gif

Most stations forecast for today: mid 70s with breaks in the overcast and late day showers. yikes.pngyikes.png

yup! i mentioned that earlier...i was pissed since i work outside, i check the weather non-stop so i know how to prepare for working 8hrs outside...wbz and whdh had that same forecast as well as accuweather.com

instead- off and on down pours all day starting at 720am with temps never getting out of the mid 60s...i checked the weather at 630am one last time before heading out the door, and by 730am the forecast was totally blown...come on now, it seems like the mets are reallying too much on the computer models and not enough on good ol fashioned common "weather" sense...
