CoastalWx
You think tomorrow ends up mostly dry? Looks like it might It looks like maybe later in the day we'll see some more stuff roll through with our next disturbance. Perhaps a decent chunk of the day dry, but there might be some sct stuff around.

Tropopause_Fold
I won't forget that freakin' sound..lol. Of course, it was kind of cool. i was out "chasing" a daytime cell in '08 that got svr warned...had a big c-t-g strike a 100 yrds +/- from me. pretty freaky stuff. about 10 seconds before it happened the interior of my truck was suddenly loaded with static...all the hairs on my arms were standing up. my Tundra was basically in corona....thought i was about to get struck. and it was so loud at first i thought the truck had been hit. Tropopause_Fold
That's how we'll see our 70's tomorrow BDL might not make it today. of course, officially they will have because they were like 72 or something at midnight...but it's been falling since. maybe they'll recover some late today as this first batch of rain moves east. Once the rain stops here over the next hr and we see those breaks that are out in NY state they should shoot up to 72-73 pretty easily
Mr Torchey
70/66 just had an awesome shower roll through quenching the parched landscape. Humidity is impressive, hopefully we get some breaks this afternoon and make a run at 80.

After a May in which the departure was +1.58 following an April that was +0.64? For the year BDR is +18%, so your area has had some decent positive departures, especially recently, without much in the way of hot scorching temps. Yes snowman, I do, I work outside for a living......the insanely low dews sat sun and mon along with brilliant sunny skies sapped the moisture out of the top 6 inches of soil, roses, hydrangea, and some lawns were showing signs of stress due to the dry soil. JustinWX
Anyone think we'll get a bit of a break around 6-7pm tonight? Hoping to get a softball game in...but redevelopment in NYS seems to suggest it'll be 50/50 to get said game in
Damage In Tolland
it's a scary sensation. About 3 summers ago i was standing in my garage watching a storm and a tree about 1/4 of a mile away in my neighborhood got hit. I was leaning up against one of those metal guide things that the automatic garage door wheels go up and down when you open/close them..and as the strike occurred I got a pretty nasty shock that actually made me lose my footing a bit..even being that far away from the CTG

I got stuck in one on a Saturday on the Wellfleet/Truro line that was dropping quarters. It was nasty. A couple days later I was back in Wellfleet at the Beachcomber and there were some nasty gusts (50-55 knots) and hail. 2 severe storms in 4 days on the outer cape is pretty impressive. I don't what it is, but 2 triple deckers have been hit within a half mile of me in the past two years. Before the pole next to my place got hit, lightning took out some lines about 2 blocks from me during June 1st. I don't have too many trees that tower over 30-40' buildings to act as lightning rods, so I guess that explains it.

My whole neighborhood is built on ledge..in fact we have quite a bit of it in the woods behind our house..so it seems like a tree or 2 every summer gets hit in the neighborhood..but luckily no homes. I hink i told this story before, but my sister in laws house in Norfolk ,Mass got hit by lightning 5 or 6 summers ago while they were at the cape and caused a major fire and the house had to be demolished and rebuilt
