Damage In Tolland
Might have to wait until July to get some good severe wx chances here again, this weeks pattern is actually pretty decent, just not for SNE. If that warm front were to be lifting through it would be game on. Should see a similar pattern sometime towards the first week of July but hopefully with no closed lows to our northeast. ski MRG
64/51, an insanely hot high of 75 after a low of 43. This heat is relentless. As if day after day of temps in the 50's and 60's weren't hot enough now we're forced to endure low to mid 70's. Just about ready to cry Uncle. Whew! It's blazin' hot. Damage In Tolland
? GFS all alone..Euro brings w/f thru and washes out..so we warm sector
weatherwiz
GFS all alone..Euro brings w/f thru and washes out..so we warm sector Euro has the cutoff low just like the NAM/GFS...all the models finally lift the cutoff low far enough to the northeast to where it would allow the front to lift through. However, the front is really going to be washed out and it's not much of a warm sector, plus lapse rates aloft are going to be crappy thanks to everything to our west. ski MRG
Sheesh. My two weeks of freedom this month begin on Wed. I'm trying to decide between staying on the fabulous Vim Toot yacht in exclusive and tony Chester CT or do I drive home to the Maritimes mecca of Aroostook County? Thanks to CT Rain's recent input here I am leaning toward the frozen north. Now, if I let Blizzy influence my choice I'd never leave CT as it all HEAT! HEAT! HEAT! all summer. If I go with MRG it's all cool, cool, cool. Up to this point, MRG is flensing Blizzy- cool & rainy is definitely winning. Thank Heavens I'm ignoring the self-loathing neighbor-hating bvirgin or I'd spend my days off in Vancouver where the liberal nihilist mindset bvirgin captures here: "awful stereotype. Boring, uninspiring upper-middle class western culture at it's most depressing" was outwardly expressed the recent evening of their loss in a hockey game. Of course, bvirgin's self contempt comes out as an indictment projected on to all "those others" in Western Culture who he lives amongst. It's not cool to hate all the good around him, the toad. bvirgin, It wasn't cool to learn to hate your own civilization in community college sociology classes then and it's not cool today when you hear some balding pony-tail in natural fabrics or an ugly sneering dyke parroting that same hate. Stop knocking Western Culture, doorknob. You owe everything good to it and would live in hell without it. Hairnet. There, that settles it- I'm going to Aroostook County where it's still 1958. And there's nothing wrong with that! Vim Toot Nice use of flensing. I don't think I've seen that word since I last read Moby Dick. Poor Blizz. Having travelled a bit myself I personally don't understand the self-loathing American point of view. We're lucky to live in the good ole' USA. I have friends in Uzbekistan. I wonder how long BIrving would last in Tashkent before he was crying for the warm comforts of home. Funny how people feel like they sound enlightened by going off on a sanctimonious rant about "western culture". Usually indicative of someone swimming in the shallow end of the knowledge pool. Or perhaps the mis-reading of data from Chester hill? People in glass houses.......

Well, considering the length of the days right now I'll take that as a compliment. Do you think it was actually 90 here today but I just decided to say it was 75 to be subjective about it? It's fair to say MRG that your posted readings have been challenged more often than any other poster on the SNE board. Indeed some that make their livelihood in this field have challenged them from time to time. Scoob, you seem to be the one most interested in challenging my readings. You did it last week but the only thing that was challenged was your ability to read the data from the wunderground website. My obs are always +/- 1 degree of other stations in my area (few and far between as they may be.) Currently at 5:06AM it is 48/47, perhaps you think it's in the 70's here right now, it's not. If you try really hard I'm sure you can find the temp graph for Chester Hill or Shaw's pond which will show the progression of temps through the night. (I'm afraid that you'll join the fray well after sunrise and think the current temp at CEF should reflect the temps here at higher elevations. You seem easily confused.) weatherwiz
This totally blows for us on Thursday, looks like the area og highest instability sets up JUST to our west. Easterly flow here keeps us quite stable unfortunately. SPC does have 5% risk though on D3 so perhaps not all is lost but we'd need to see sfc winds more from the SW.
