April,May,June all above normal..but if you say so

Well, I've had 4 days this month that hit 80, May featured 2 80 degree days while April's warmest temp was 75. Perhaps warm overnights or a few days with significant positive departures may be skewing things. High heat certainly has not been the weather story here while everyone is talking about the rain and cool cloudy weather. Perhaps in southern states like CT. its been worse but I rarely travel to places like that.

84, 89, 86 during that horrid torch last week.....

Since then the warmest has been 78 (yesterday).....

If the month is above normal anywhere it is because several days are skewing it.....

Just checking the weather in AK and noticed that (in Willow) sunrise is currently 4:22 AM with sunset at 11:42 pm. Even after the sun sets there is an extended period of twilight, then the sun comes up again. Makes up for the dark months.lol

Our friends that live there tell us that people don't sleep much in the summer--just go-go-go, gettin' sh1t done and havin' fun while they can.

Even here, there's a glow in the east at 4am and a glow in the west at 9:30pm or so. The High Season.

LOL. That's the deal. "There's plenty of time to sleep when you die." That's the saying I always here there. AK is pretty in the summer as well.

I'm finally starting on the wood supply for winter 2012-13. Here it is amost the solstace and I'm way behind. I'd like to have it fully seasoned. I had started earlier but at one point my saw wouldn't start, so I started in on other various chores.

Meanwhile, I only have about 5 cords split for this winter. Hope I don't have to buy any--embarassment. lol.

64.1/61. Hope to continue the string of 70's.

According to my friend in Stockholm they never truly get dark there now despite several hours of sunset. There is always at least enough light to read a newspaper.

As a kid in 1977 we went to Iceland and I remember in Reykjavik it was bright all night long. We were all jet lagged and it was tough to sleep.

Personally I like long nights ...hate sun peeking in my window after 5 AM..ughhh

Ireland's not too shabby either. Light until near midnight at the solstace.

63/61, wow is it ever nice out right now. Just mowed the lawn and even in the direct sunlight it's pleasant. Clouds are on the increase though. Hope it doesn't rain. I prefer the long winter nights as well.

Rick, I live north and east of you so the sunrise is even earlier. I was noting the other day that the northeast sky begins to brighten around 3:35am on this longest week or so of sunlight.

Yeah too early.... and I noticed the other night here that the last glints of dusk lasted until almost 10 PM. So we are looking at only 6 + hours of true blackness now even here at about 42.8 north.....

I was in Ireland last year around late May and it was fully light until well after 10 PM. That didn't bother me in that case because I was on vacation and making full use of the long evenings. On the other hand I was in Ireland in early December once and sunset over the Atlantic at 3ish PM.....
