Wind just picked up here big time...must be some outflow.

Just talked to a friend on the NW side... lost power when the wind hit.

EDIT: 44 mph gust at LAF. Impressive for outflow around here

It was easily that high here. I think I'm a pretty good judge of wind and it seems like KLAF is usually lower than what I have. Shingles blown off near WLFI per Chad.

I can't say I recall having that kind of wind/damage from outflow around these parts before.

last radar update was 6:26 and storms were well out of the area..

I wonder what caused the power loss then?

also don't NWS offices have gen sets?

Well the timestamp says Tuesday June 1, so maybe it's not current? Although that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, because Tuesday was May 31 I thought.

Yeah I was wondering how you fared. What were the winds like?

It was pretty intense. The steel building was shaking and I actually went back to my windowless office in case I needed to get under my desk. (I hate working on the weekends (for no pay). Damn TPS reports - hehe.)

Lots of trees down and some power poles down around the area. Lots of flooding of course.

Wow at NW IN wind reports. Wish I wasn't at work. That would have been amazing to see blow up in present time.

Reports of significant wind damage continue to come in. I suspect LOT will be out surveying some of those areas tomorrow.

I am located in Demotte IN. Crazy strong winds lasted a very long time it was like a hurricane. Damage looks to be from straight line winds as all the trees are laying the same direction. Easily the most wind damage over a very large area I have ever seen. Many Many trees down. Very few people have power.
