Powerball
I'm not sure I follow. If you're having capping issues then it would stand to reason that they would only be worse to the south. The mid-level warming this time was exacerbated by subsidence from the MCS this morning, which this area was in closest proximity to on this side of the border. DTX mentioned it in their discussion. That said, I do think everyone's jumping the gun too quickly. Even then, there's always next time.

I agree with the bolded...not saying stuff will form but we're not done yet. If nothing happens though I'm gonna get really frustrated...but then again there's nothing I can do about it. outflow
come on guys, meaning the same 4-5 posters from semi, we just went through this with the last big svr thread that included michigan, we don't need tons of post about "0-5 on watches" or "DTX jinxed it again". my little rant off, anyone know if the joliet area had any hail or wind damage? There is a nascar race there tonight and there would have been a decent amount of people outside around the track.

The best thing to do is turn off your comp, if something happens then come back to it. This scenario will just ruin your night.

nwohweather
Wow this line looks epic. Northern IN and NW Ohio are certainly going to have an interesting evening for sure. Last time I saw a line like this was June 9th, 2008 where a 120 mph wind gust was recorded in Fulton County, OH and I had a 93 mph one at my house

Hoosier
Apparently not. That was written 2 and a half hours ago when there was nothing going on to the south either. If they weren't expecting anything until early evening then I'm not sure why we're already seeing these cancel posts.

The atmosphere just plain doesn't like to pop interesting thunderstorms near Detroit. And it's like pulling teeth to get more than 7.5" of snow. We're not currently under this watch in the Springfield area--but considering the severe thunderstorm warnings in Hancock and Schuyler counties over an hour west of here--and the cell moving ESE, I would not be surprised to see this one locally extended fairly soon by ILX to include Jacksonville, Springfield and perhaps Decatur. Hoosier
The kokomo(IN) Heavy rain train is rolling in Yeah you can see some issues coming with the way the radar looks. Radar is already estimating over 2" on the north side of the city with much more to come. Maybe there will be enough of a southward push but it won't be before the damage is done.
