Night Photography (post yours!)

Recommended Posts

This is a GREAT thread idea! Night pics are my favorite but are the most difficult to capture imo, yet some can turn out fantastic.

Here are some of mine, going chronologically but backwards (lol I used my wunderground account with the tag of "nighttime", and it starts with most recent).

***sorry for the oversize***

Here is another from the same night. I played with the colors some for the "Tron" look. Just experimenting. But this photo is big because it's a total of ~24 to 27 photos. I merged some of them in CS4 (photoshop) using the automated route, then I had to hand merge them manually in CS4. The original is something like 32,000pix wide. It's three vertical rows with 8 to 9 photos horizontally in each row.

Pretty much all my night stuff is just landscapes, either in the Wichita Mountains or other rural spots in OK. Here are a few of my more recent ones. Need to get out again next week during the full moon and do some more, since storms are pretty much a lost cause.

Most excellent work all around Brett! I see you too like to combine landscape and night photography. I especially enjoy wide-field astrophotography. Here's some samples of my work:
