OSUmetstud Posted June 1, 2011 Share Posted June 1, 2011 u can see that wave quite nicely on the satellite as it cleared out quickly in Western MA and CT...I think southern storms are having more difficulty due to the stronger 700mb capping in CT as opposed to northern MA. Not sure how much capping is the issue because most of the convection seems rooted well above the boundary layer.May just have been an issue of where the strongest forcing was. SBcapes already exceeding 3000 J/KG, MLcapes in the2500-3000 J/KG range, MUcape values in excess of 3000 J/KG, LI values down to -7C to -9C, Ncape values around 0.3, Dcape 1100-1300 J/KG...that's what an EML will do!
