OSUmetstud
It's early in the day so I'm not too worried about it. It's also not some huge remnant MCS that's producing a wide swath of clouds and rain for hundreds of miles. those big remnant MCSs kill lapse rates...this is definitely not that. CT Rain
It looks like the stuff that models have coming trough late day might be along the actual front? Some of the models are pretty dam impressive with those. SREFs seem impressive still. As usual, probably a nowcast thing. Yeah models for the most part remain exceptionally impressive. Those storms up in your area are pretty nasty. Some tops pushing 50k, pretty impressive for am storms.

OSUmetstud
so the SPC is thinking earlier initiation. idk...I've seen some decent capping forecasted for the 15z-18z time frame...plus lift is weak as it is.

Yeah with the EML and forcing still NW I don't think we'll initiate too early. I think they were hedging based on the mesoscale models blowing lots of stuff up very early. moneypitmike
Line looks like it's beginning to wane some as well. Tropopause_Fold
Some of those meso models really develop a ton of crap this morning. Hopefully they are wrong, but it appears to be tied to WAA. yeah you can see the instability nicely in the vis sat shots now with the stuff starting to pop. HoarfrostHubb
We're advecting in high dews now. Mine jumped from 59 to 64 in less than 30 minutes Lots of mini-convection going on out there looking at the clouds... Winds from the south/southwest... dews should climb slowly but surely, but I hope it picks up the pace (can't believe I am hoping for higher dews) Ah well. Daddy daycare today. OSUmetstud
nice pool of 18C+ 925mb dewpoints in PA and Ohio advecting this way should support sfc dewpoints in the upper 60s....with low 70s possible in some areas.
