Several close strikes here setting off our smoke detectors. Same thing here this evening with the storms that dropped 0.49". (seriously) Just ridiculous CTG strikes...I was driving to pick up a friend right in the worst of it and it was honestly a bit frightening. One bolt came down in a patch of woods like 25-35 yards from my car.

north pgh
Yawn. Missed by storms by 5 miles two days in a row. They just sit there teasing me too. Stupid Town. You seem to be in the same boat as me this summer. I have had numerous storms 5 miles or so away this year that missd me in every which way. Today we had a line come right on my doorstep with continuous thunder only to have it practically stop and refire 5 miles to my southeast and continue along. I am sure to most people it has been a great year for thunderstorms around here but for some reason they always miss by the slimmest of margins. Billabong
Hi everyone. Just moved to State College from Virginia Beach for school. I've been around Eastern/American for a few years now, but mostly in the SE Virginia threads. I'm a junior at PSU as a met major. I'm used to an average of 7" of snow a year, so looking forward to a nice winter!

It should be nice to get a nearly 40" bump in average snowfall. Long-term average is around 46", but anything between 15" and 110" is within the realm of possibility. Oh, also, hope you like cloud cover.
