Ed Lizard
I am seeing some mention of cold on the local KHOU thread, and, well, it seems early for a big mondo-death freeze, but the GFS, at least to me, looks a little interesting at Day 10, where the vortex is and the Westard extension of the trough. Any of the long range heavy hitters, input welcome. I searched, McFarland has been discussed before... http://www.easternuswx.com/bb/index.php?/topic/122862-mcfarland-signature/

I searched, McFarland has been discussed before... http://www.easternus...land-signature/ There were hints in the models several days ago of such a pattern (big cold diving to Texas)... but alas, they have all backed away from it. In fact, other than some modest cool weather middle of next week... it looks to turn rather mild down here for Thanksgiving week.
Ed Lizard
Latest GFS, the East-West extension of the trough back from the vortex, not as East-West. Could be a false alarm...
Ellinwood
Over-rated, unless you're talking Pac NW and West/Central Canada.
