Stebo
Woke up this morning to this (posted on the severe thread for today, as well) Hit around 715 AM Loud - no warning on this cell until after it hit. I think it surprised the NWS - the size of the hail. Picture was about 20-30 minutes after the hail fell. Pretty big hail there for a non-warned storm. Trent
How are things doing in SE Michigan? It doesn't look like areas just to the north and east of Detroit had much more than a few tenths of rain over the past 3 weeks.

It doesn't look like areas just to the north and east of Detroit had much more than a few tenths of rain over the past 3 weeks. I think we're still doing okay because of the extremely wet spring here, but I wouldn't mind picking up some rain in the Monday-Wednesday time period. Guru Of Reason
When is sunshine and warmth going to come and finally stay for the summer? This summer is replaying 2009 with a June heatwave but otherwise CRAP weather. Two weeks out on the models looks like more of the same crap. Time to do it... summer cancel. Summer cancel is awesome news for me. I'm glad that stuff out in Texas and Oklahoma is not going to reach here. Especially not this early in the season. SpartyOn
This Summer cancel talk cracks me up. Been warm and sunny here in SeMi. Beautiful Summer weather for the last 2 weeks and it looks to stay that way. 75-82 on a daily basis with plenty of sun and low humidity. Tropical I would suggest moving brotha if you want consistent warmth... Living by a natural AC unit ( lake Michigan ) is your problem. Other than that your screwed dude. No cancel
SpartyOn
BTW... Tropical.... Don't count your chickens before they hatch..it's not even July yet and u will get ur heat. This pattern hold no resemblance to 2009 what so ever so essentially that's a false comparison.

No cancel Yeah have to agree with you, this summer has been very enjoyble and then some. Great for working out outdoors and wind sprinting and plenty of sexy ass everywhere....that's why summer rocks. At some point we will see some heat but as much as I love hot weather, I can deal with this, pretty awesome sleeping weather.
SpartyOn
^^ Best part has been the lack of AC use. I love the heat and swamp air but the electric bill hates it. In fact if this awesome stretch of weather were to continue for the next 3 months this Summer would get an A+. Nothing beats normal temps and plenty of sun. Mother nature is balancing out the weather just fine. With a wet and chilly spring this current stretch we have had is so very welcomed. Here is to celebrating Fathers Day with temps in the low 80s and not a cloud in the sky! Perfect day to kick back and laugh with the ole man about all the times you almost burnt the house down or how he helped perfect your pitching and batting stance! Chicago WX
And that's that. 2.82" at LAF...2.93" at WLFI through 10AM this morning. EDIT: Another cell has popped up, will miss the airport, but will come through my neighborhood on the SE side. EDIT EDIT: Or not to missing the airport. Another 0.31" recorded there which puts us over 3" on the day. 3.61" measured on the southside of LAF. Triple EDIT: As of 11AM, 3.13" at LAF which breaks the daily record amount for today (2.92" in 1964). Also the 5th highest daily amount in June since records began at LAF. OHSnow
The 6z Op GFS had a nice heat episode out in fantasy land. Hour 324 shows 850mb temps of 28-29C in MSP and hour 348 shows 850mb temps of 25-26C across much of the midwest, including northern Illinois, Indiana, southern Michigan and northwest Ohio. We can always hope, I guess. But it's looking like this is going to be a cloudy, wet, miserable summer.
