SpartyOn
Am I reading this right... 12z EURO has daytime surface temps in the 40s over a large part of WI at hour 222 which is 18z??? Is that even possible this late in the year??? Anything is possible in fantasy land.
Hoosier
Today is one year since the violent Benton county supercell which I have in my avatar. I normally wouldn't use the word violent for something that didn't drop a tornado but I think it's warranted in this case.

cyclone77
Southeast Iowa getting a crapload of rain again tonight. Some very impressive 2-3 day rainfall totals will be seen down there. Meanwhile we remain high and dry in the QCA lol.

Hoosier
And upper 70's here. Hoosier will be excited. Though I certainly welcome the storms...nice weather we're having, but a little blah. 00z GFS is bringing 80 degree dewpoints in here on Sunday. Chicago Storm
The ECMWF has 850mb temps around 25C for Chicago on Monday, though it appears mixing does not occur to that level. The GFS shows the same...
Hoosier
You can see a boundary and weak low level flow in the area which would support high dewpoints.

cyclone77
Quite a bit of lightning off to the west right now. These weak elevated storms are more electric than I thought they'd be.

I'm going to stay up a bit longer and see what they do when they head into a less unstable environment and lower dew points. No matter what it looks like a period of some good rains. There is a tremendous amount of lightning with the storms around Galesburg. By the way, it's interesting the watch the whole rain/storm complex rotate around the associated vort. Looks like several hours of light to moderate rain for much of northern Illinois following the weak convection on the leading edge. Still getting lots of cloud to cloud lightning, but luckily no CG action.

cyclone77
Outflow boundary just passed through with hardly any winds. Figured we'd see at least some 30+mph gusts.

I like the north/south band of convection out in central Iowa moving in for effect. Picked up almost 0.40" of rain over the past 15 minutes. Thundersnow12
still a good amount of lightning with those storms southwest of here, deciding if i want to set my alarm or hope they just wake me up with the window open
cyclone77
Power keeps going on and off here. Very aggravating. Storms have a lot of electricity, but not much else. At least north of I-80.

River Card
Intersting link and no surprise, it seems that winters and springs have been cloudier and colder of late minus last spring and falls have been warmer and sunnier. Looks like the monthly euro wants to bake us this fall....great news to compensate for the loss of spring this year. Chicago Storm
Nice wake low with the MCS this morning. Winds were gusting up to 50-55mph here. Numerous small (< 3" diameter) branches are down across town, though there are sporadic larger limbs down. Power was also out in parts of town. wisconsinwx
I golfed this morning for the first time this year. Not ideal weather for it (mid to upper 50s, cloudy and probably 20-25 mph winds), but you make do with the weather here.

hawkeye_wx
Euro had been showing heat early next week followed by a pretty deep, cool trough, but the last couple runs have been backing off of both. Today's 12z keeps the front over the area with the real heat mostly staying south. This scenario would mean more heavy rain for areas around here that don't need any. After the heavy rain this morning we are up to about 5 inches in the last week and some locations south of me have received much more.
