When the wind goes W after the sea breeze, they'll spike 10-15 degrees.

Love the breeze, what's double kill for the valley urbanites is the pools/lakes are still cold so no water relief, all we had to do today was refill the LI ice tea in the cool shade. I wouldn't say it's unheard of either. Looks like BOS peaked at 87F.Maybe weathafella can specifically recall some other impressive examples of that. TalcottWx
I'm well aware. Not too often we go over to a seabreeze and then come back that late in the afternoon... if we go over we usually stay..
ORH_wxman
Not too often we go over to a seabreeze and then come back that late in the afternoon... if we go over we usually stay.. I remember it happening a few times over the past few summers. The '08 heat wave it happened, their high was after 5pm. http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KBOS/2008/6/10/DailyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA Also the mini heat wave last July http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KBOS/2010/7/12/DailyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA But its definitely more common for it to happen the other way around like you said. Often once they seabreeze they wont go back, but sometimes if the sea breeze is quite weak, you'll get examples like above.

Certainly not as rare as us getting a cane or a nado but you get the point.. My guess is that little cap we had earlier kept things quiet at the surface and allowed the wind to go se and when we broke through late afternoon we mixed into the SW winds.. I didn't see the skew though
Damage In Tolland
What a PHAIL by the NAM with the backdoor and temps in the 50's in Eastern Mass today and tomorrow. LOL..Anyone that gives an ounce of credence to that POS needs to take a step away from the wx

The 18z GFS MOS actually got warmer for me compared to 12z (83 vs 80) while the NAM MOS sits at 65 and low ovc. lol
