Dr No
Year of the SE trend I guess - oh well, I'm sure it'll be back further north at least for one run tomorrow.
Lee
this is sooooo contrary to climo, its really hard to believe, but congrats to those down south if it happens http://www.nco.ncep....am_p48_084l.gif Sure looks pretty back this way! After getting screwed in a very bad way last winter hopefully we can get some justice here :snowman:
PhineasC
Pretty sure the three HECS last season all started as the storm to end all storms pounding SW VA only to shift north. This is no different.
WinterWxLuvr
Seems like what is going on in the northeast is hurting us this run. Reminds me of last January when the models held those heights very low up there right up until about 24 hours before and then they relaxed that a bit and northward came our snow. 3 days out still seems like a lot to me. Dr No
Every run that cyclone of death over Maine gets stronger for next week. I might have to utter a congrats Tampa at this point.

Ger
Well around seven days ago the event on Saturday/Sunday was ten days into the future and look how quickly we got to within a few days. Of course it's mostly gone as a threat now. Uh, forget it.
Ger
Does anyone recall how far off we were when we began zeroing in on 12/19? Wasn't it around ten days or maybe seven or eight? What made us true believers then despite the distance? Because I remember a lot of people being fairly confident on that one when it was way more than 72 hours out. Dr No
The 0Z line is 1.36 miles further north on tonight's run at 18hrs. It's coming north.
mitchnick
the most interesting panel on the 0Z NAM tonight is 42hrs with that circle of +10C at 850mb at the southern tip of Iceland that really is impressive considering the closest area of +10C at 850 is over the Florida Keys http://www.nco.ncep....am_pcp_042l.gif
Coach McGuirk
Welp, the 00z NAM is even further south. I'll be lucky to see a snow shower on this run.

PhineasC
Maybe this will be winter where everything goes horribly wrong. A clipper diving into SC in December is pretty unusual, but OK!
