Wow, really!? a meteorologist on TV is claiming an EF4 on live TV by looking at video? :yikes:

My thoughts exactly. Certainly makes them lose credibility. But if it gets the viewers to their basements quicker, then that's a good thing.

Storms SW of Chickasha certainly gaining rotation quickly.

The LLJ only going to get stronger from here on out this evening?

It was a chaser who was saying it was an EF4...given that this person has interacted with the damage across its path, I don't think it's that unreasonable to make a snap judgement...it's not any different than what we'll do later with the photos. If it helps reinforce how dangerous the situation is then I think it's a good idea.

The numbers make me cringe a bit but since it's well-monitored and heading toward populated areas, you might as well use strong wording. The debris ball is ominous and the potential is clear today.
