Surface winds backing pretty severely ahead of the dryline on the Mesonet. Surface obs from OKC/Norman, Lawton, Chickasha, and El Reno all have surface winds ranging from 140-160 degrees at this time. Keep in mind that the RUC and SPC Mesoanalysis (which is initialized off the RUC) don't have the surface winds backed quite this much, so they are likely underestimating helicity to some extent.

* AT 341 PM CDT...A LARGE... VIOLENT TORNADO WAS LOCATED 6 MILES

SOUTH OF HINTON...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH.

* LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BRIDGEPORT...CALUMET...CEDAR

LAKE...GEARY AND HINTON.

Keep in mind folks that this is all happening before most of the low-level jet intensification. The fact that we're already getting incredible velocity couplets and confirmed large/damaging tornadoes before the helicities ramp up is not a good sign...

NORTHEAST OF CHARLESTON. DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED THIS TORNADIC STORM

MOVING NORTHEAST AT 55 MPH.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...

MAINLY RURAL AREAS OF EASTERN FINNEY AND NORTHERN GRAY COUNTIES.
