I'm going to drain his pool.

I'm thinking mob justice is in order here. We could also rip out his car thermometer.

But none of these things are going to make you guys feel any cooler-- I have a feeling if you guys actually made it all the way out there, you'd probably want to jump in his pool or hang out by his AC lol.

Again this is all about humidity and has very little to do with temperature. People said last July was more comfortable than this, which proves my point. I love pure heat, not humidity. As far as I'm concerned humidity is just a form of air pollution.

i have yet to use the car A/C this summer

i love humidity

Did you use it a lot last summer? I don't usually use the car AC regardless, because it's fun driving with the windows down.... the wind takes away a lot of the unpleasantness of the heat.

Same here, I hate A/C in the car, usually just ride with the windows open, even at 95 degrees. Yesterday was pushing it though. I probably would've broke down and turned it on if the ride were longer.

I don't know man, I think that's a lot of BS. Last July seemed just as brutal to me, and when I vacationed in Phoenix 3 years ago it was routinely 110-115 with low humidity, felt like a furnace and very difficult to breathe outside. I can see it's a lot more comfortable at lower temp values, but I think once you get over 95 degrees, low humidity or high humidity, it's hot as hell either way.

Well lower humidity does make it a lot easier to sleep at night because lower humidity allows radiational cooling to allow the temps to drop. 110-115 is of course a lot different from 100-102.... I guess I just got used to it last summer and even went running in that weather-- it was awesome! :) Hell if people in Texas can get used to it (with humidity) we should be able to.

Even if its 100-102 with low humidity, you are not dropping below 70, unless you are in the middle of a desert, meaning A/C is necessary.

I was in SD in 2005 and on one day the temps reached 110F, and while it was dry the winds were gusting over 40mph that day. It was absolutely horrible. It would've been better without the wind.

276 hour maps, again?

In the last month this is three times you've called me out for posting long range maps (which I never do), both times it's actually verified as well above average temps with record highs. This thread was started in the last few weeks of May. We've seen the pattern verify very well since I made the initial post.

It's not about the hour of the map, it's about the pattern...the teleconnections..and the global support for it's occurance. Which apparently you seem to enjoy ignoring.

To be honest the GFS ensembles are even warmer...likely screaming heat ridge through the end of the run. The ridge over Hawaii is still holding strong--there's a big responsive trough over the West coast..and the heights are built over the Central and Eastern US. There are more than 7 ensemble members with 594dm+ heights closed off over the Central/Eastern US. I won't post any maps though so Nzucker doesn't get offended.

If you ask me I think we're probably going to have at least one..maybe two or more heat waves through the first few weeks of July.
