I whole heartedly agree. Though when I was a kid and had a pool I wanted the heat so I could get temps up to near 90 (on my pool thermometer anyway). One cool night in the 50s and it seemed like the pool dropped 10 degrees overnight

This weather is great right now. Beautiful blue skies and a nice wind. I don't see how anyone really enjoy 90F and dewpoints in 70s It feels and looks terrible, even with shorts. I only cheer for the heat and humidity when there is a severe wx threat.

Yeah, it's seems like most people here who are rooting for the heat and humidity, have a backyard pool, where they cool off and have fun anytime they want. I don't.

Or don't have to worry about installing and running 6 window units to keep the house tolerable!

More energy is expended and money lost with heating the house in winter. We don't live in a climate that's easy on the wallet, like say West Coast.

Yes heating an old house costs alot more than cooling it. Mostly because you only cool one or two rooms at a time and can leave it off during the day when nobody's home. That's why I enjoy days and nights like this. No AC or heat and can just have windows open

We barely use AC at my house in Dobbs Ferry, and I'm personally fine with it. We have a wall unit in each of the bedrooms that we run on the hottest nights, probably on average 20-25 times/summer. I only used it three times during the Summer of 2009, and I only put it on during the day for the most torrid/humid stretches. My parents like to save energy, and I respect that and agree with them personally. I do spend a lot of time in the basement naturally, and that rarely gets above 80F which is a manageable temperature for me in mid-summer.

they should invest in solar panels like my parents did. quite a good amount of money they get from the energy company since they sell it to them.

I use AC as much as I do heat-- we have both extremes here, so all houses should have central AC as much as they do heat. AC is awesome, everyone should have it and use it.

I hate the clammy feel of it, and it prevents my body from being naturally adjusted to the warmth of summer. Humans were born of the tropics, this heating>AC...

:lmao:

I gotta admit, I absolutely loved sitting by the pool the past 5 days. Throwing a few back, chilling before & after work by the pool...it was so awesome.

Obviously it's different in the city and when you don't have a pool. I understand why plenty of people here hate the heat. But I dont think there's anything better than sitting poolside with a cold beer and the Yankee game on in the hot sun.

I can't complain though. The atmosphere finds a way of evening things out. Climo always comes back. So my 6 days of +15 or more departures are over--now those who enjoy this weather more than the heat can love it. Im not really complaining, either, I'd just rather it be a little less windy.

Climo can go **** itself! It's time to release more carbon dioxide and methane into the atmosphere ;)

LOL idk it really helps me to sleep better at night. It probably depends how long you run it for. I've found it actually reduces the humidity.

I dont put the heat on in winter. and I leave my windows open. I feel it is more natural that way. my entire family huddles together while we sleep. sometimes we have drifts in the house.

LOL Man, you should have your own late night show..... wait you already do ;):popcorn:

I prefer to be cool, borderline chilly when I wake up in the morning, in an ideal world. But I'm also a fan of conserving as much energy as possible. House temp is usually 79-80 by day and 76-77 at night (usually pretty comfortable) in the summer. I can handle warm indoor temps when I'm awake, but its impossible for me to get a good nights sleep when its too warm. Toss and turn like crazy.

Don't know if others feel this way, but I do get sick of the A/C after being in it for awhile, especially if its set very low when I'm awake. Like after being in an air conditioned airport or walking around in a store for a long time, I'm dying to get some outside air, even if its 95/75 out there.

Yeah I hear you. It's almost like in the winter when everything's closed up and you get cabin fever. The same thing can happen during a really hot stretch because you don't feel like going outside but you can't turn the AC off either. Just to get some fresh air you brave the 110 heat index.

Agree. I can't sleep when it's too warm. My room runs warm by nature anyway which sucks--and we have central air, so everybody suffers when it gets hot in my room...I turn the temp down pretty low. But nothing overly dramatic.
