I didn't look too closely at his map. I just assumed John had the correct numbers, and I believe he does, as shown below... Yes, cloud cover will play a role, but if you read the morning NWS discussions, they expect lower dewpoints to be able to mix down today so the dew point should probably drop a bit during the day.

Yeah...if you read the 850 map I posted it lines up well with the text data you posted..the 22 C bubble moves directly overhead. Anyway..the NAM is keeping temps in the low to mid 90's today likely due to some mixing issues. I am interested to see if it's correct. It busted low by several degrees yesterday in the OH Valley with a similar situation. So we shall see!

John - Excellent point and observation. If we have trouble mixing down, we are going to struggle to hit those extremely high numbers this afternoon. It'll be very interesting to see how it plays out...

It's right to the left of the 20C red line...the thin black contour says 21 c and the one to the left of that says 22 C.

I see that but it looks as though that's mostly outside the Upton CWA, unless those 850s move overhead later.

Looks as if EWR is around 21-22C today, NYC 5 Boroughs around 20C along with Westchester/SW CT, and LI around 18-19C.

I always thought tomorrow was going to be a bit hotter with winds more W than SW, especially for places on Long Island which will likely get a seabreeze today. I could see JFK being upper 80s today but well into the 90s tomorrow. Upton has 85F for JFK today and 91F tomorrow, but they've abandoned the idea of Thursday being warmer for much of the forecast area with highs of 95/95 or 96/96 for inland areas. Interestingly, looks as if they have Westchester a bit warmer than the City, probably due to the lack of a sea breeze.

Some thick cirrus now over the Catskills, might prevent EWR from reaching 100F today:

The clouds are actually from a remnant MCS and are spreading south pretty quickly now. Should move through NE NJ and NYC. between 11am-1pm. Which means we'll plenty of time to recover.afterwards.

We should get nice storms tomorrow evening.

Unlike last week's bust, this time, models are actually showing measurable precip all over our area.

earthlight saw lightning so he claims his call verified. J/K
