Yeah as I posted a few pages back I'm really liking that Wednesday severe threat. Deep low to our north, strong moisture advection, impressive thermodynamic and kinematic environment, land based sfc winds should prevent marine layer from being any issue. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a mdt risk with it.

I think there will be a moderate risk. Especially over parts of Upstate NY and New England, where the models are placing the best LLJ.

It just rained here. The street has steam coming off of it! I don't think I've ever seen that before.

Jersey City,NJ

Only during those exceptionally hot days do we see steam coming off streets after rain. The record breaking heat of 2011 continues. Right now a scorching 77 here.

If I managed to not be forced to put in my A/C yet, it is not a torch. Will probably have to tomorrow though for Monday.

Well I was just playing around lol. But I've had my AC on over the last week because I have a low tolerance to heat, especially indoors where there's no strong, consistent breeze. That's another reason I don't like summers here; we don't get good dependable breezes. The air gets stagnant and nasty.

Yeah even if its not that hot during the day anything higher than 66 or 67 at night, especially if its muggy and no breeze, and the AC will be on.

It's blowing 20-30mph outside.

It better stop because I'm going on a boat all night.

I said consistent winds throughout the summer, not a day or two here and there. I'm talking about trade winds of the southern Caribbean, or the daily afternoon sea breezes of the Mediterranean.

lol it's going to have to go a long way to beat 2010. I like how, with heat, we can anticipate record breaking summers every 11 years-- unlike with winters, which have no regular pattern whatsoever. We can get some hot summers in between too, but at the peak of 11 year cycle, you're basically guaranteed to have a scorcher.

1977 was part of the 11-year cycle but not a scorcher. There was one historic heat wave, but temperatures didn't end up above normal.

A/C is in. I have low tolerance for heat too, but my room is tiny and has four windows, so its the coolest room in the house by far (which works to my advantage in winter also), so I held out this year, especially since I'm barely home anyway.

Tonight is rather muggy. Was cold by the water, but stuffy away from it.

The exact opposite of my room. My room is a blast furnace. Has half a window, and gets full afternoon sun.

High of 81.1F after a low of 65.6F, more like late June than late May, warm though not yet a heat wave. Humidity has been the main story as the dewpoint reached a grotesque 73F today...currently 75/70, have the AC on as it looks to be a muggy night with little relief from the warmth. NWS has a high of 91F for Dobbs Ferry tomorrow, with hints in the forecast discussion that it may be even hotter if convective debris fails to materialize. Garden going absolutely nuts with several tomatoes already on my plants, each of which has 15-20 flowers right now. If this continues, I should have cherry tomatoes and a few larger tomatoes by late June, and squash/eggplant/peppers by early July. Unreal run of weather this past week, and don't see much in the way of clouds for the next 7-10 days, despite the coming cooldown.

It's going to be a banner growing season dude, I'm seeing explosive growth too. I hope we have some dry searing heat for July and August :)
