Problem with your post in bold.

It's not just the GFS, the Euro is also hinting at it towards the end of its run. I know its way out there in fantasy range. I don't take a look past day 10 very often but it just struck me as a very odd solution given the time of year.

I'm fully expecting this summer to be a year to remember weather wise. For whatever reason, mother nature seems very angry. Other parts of the country are getting hammered. It's funny to see people around here complain about a little bit of rain and cool temps when you see pics of the utter devistation going on in the midwest and plains. I think a good round of supercells through this area might make a lot people realize how lucky we are not to be dealing with that garbage.

78°F here.

There's a park in Bayside that still has damage from last year's tornado, there's a ton of snapped and knocked over trees.

Yep, of course we will get the very rare tornado or the occasional severe weather event but none if compares to what they are getting out in the central US. Countless days of moderate and high risk tornado days and many fatalities. I was wondering if this area has ever been in a high risk zone. My guess would be no. Maybe upstate and PA have.

Happens all the time with a southwest wind overnight in the urban tracts of NE NJ. In the real world, I had a high of 81 and low of 64. Sounds pretty ho hum for the end of May.

yeah, now we have people using overnight lows in UHI to convince us this is a torch.

the back and forth was over 90, not 80, but thanks for playing.

Let's be honest here, I quoted your post yesterday when you said several days ago "this warmth looks to be a one day thing" in referrence to Tuesday, and yes, 80F+ temps.

I dislike the word "torch". It feels very warm outside to me, sure as hell not a cool, low humidity day, I'm at 80.2 right now with a dew point of 62. Beautiful day, not very humid, but warm and summery feeling? Yes.

I'm in Long Branch. The sun is warm. The breeze is light. The beers are good. The girls are hot. And most importantly, the marine layer is nowhere to be found.

Exactly! Death to the marine layer! And just as importantly, looks like there is very little rain in sight on the long rain. About time!

the GFS is hinting that the boundary on monday night undergoes frontolysis and gets hung up over the region... there could be a big difference between central park and ewr on tuesday

Between NYC and EWR or between EWR and JFK? NYC is relatively far from the ocean and pretty close to EWR, I wonder how much of a difference there could be lol.

85 yesterday in southern queens, my weather station's internet conection decided to go down yesterday but I got it working again.

Interesting, I got to 84-85 as well.

Right now it's 70 on the dot (70.0 F).

It's awesome-- we were close to the area's hot spot yesterday.... with water temps still in the upper 50s lol. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come for the summer.

no, i was referring to the 90 degree temps you and earthlight were pushing. Temps around 80 were always probable and I never said otherwise, but the approaching 90 or 90 I quoted as being a one day thing. Re-read my text, its clear I don't consider 80 heat nor was I sayign that. Anyway, we have been through this.
