outflow
DTX's CWA will likely be included in that one after the current watch expires. i don't see why and honestly i'm kinda puzzled by all you guys around det. waiting on these storms tonight, because from everything i looked at i can't see anything impressive making it this far east at all tonight. just as an example look at the newest nam, never even shows any precip anywhere across the area tonight, while the ruc doesn't bring in anything til after sunrise tomorrow
JoMo
Lots of low clouds so can't see the structure on that storm in SE KS. Constant thunder. The HRRR did a great job indicating this storm earlier today. Yikes.. SOFTBALL-SIZED HAIL IS ALSO LIKELY.

Whatever happens the next 18 hours happens. Yeah, tomorrow definitely has more potential. I just have a somewhat skewed opinion of things because I'm working tomorrow afternoon, so I was hoping I could go chase something today. But it's okay. dmc76
Update... The dry air/cap was a bit too formidable to support more than a couple of storms north of I-69...and the supercell which ran just south of the Michigan border cast a subsidence/anvil shadow across the south half of the County Warning Area...preventing anything from going up. With now the expected lull...will drop the Severe Thunderstorm Watch and monitor activity upstream. As stated previously...instability will be on a decline early this evening...and the slower arrival will limit our severe chances. Current convection across far southern Lower Lake Michigan and points south is embedded within steep middle level lapse rates (700-500 mb) which quickly drop off as one heads east...which supports the abrupt weakening trend the models are advertising tonight...keeping Southeast Michigan dry in fact if you believe the 18z NAM/12z European. On the flip side...the activity is already farther east than advertised...and still would expected numerous showers/embedded thunderstorms to survive the trip late this evening with some lingering marginal instability in place.
