catoctin wx
Great picture! One of the best parts of spring. I was playing golf last weekend and we had to stop play while 4 geese and about 14 babies crossed over the fairway.

sojitodd
Even though I think most deer will end up starving, going through someone's windshield, being hunted and shot, or if they survive, turn into voracious suburban/exurban feeding machines eating thousands of dollars of valuable(and very tasty for them) landscaping.... ..they are beautiful animals and bambi is a real cutie. stormitecture
Mama does look like she's got some scars in that fur...wonder if that's normal or something happened once upon a time?
mike2010
Mama does look like she's got some scars in that fur...wonder if that's normal or something happened once upon a time? Most of the scars have cleared up. Even that strange black mark on her right rear leg. I initially thought it was an infection, but I guess not. She seems to have taken up residence - (a bonus rare looking dragonfly as well)
tamarack
I think the "scars" were merely the winter coat beginning to fall out. The newest picture shows her full summer red. The spots seen on her legs in the 1st photo (inside of right and outside of left) are scent glands, used by deer for communication, especially during the rut and perhaps least conspicuous during the summer. All excellent pics!
