ackwaves
Hi. I'm involved in some research that requires historical precip data for ACK. Is my only recourse to pay NOAA? If so, does anyone have the link? Thank you much. Cheers, Blair.

ackwaves
day by day...month by month or year by year? monthly averages would work for now, but the more precise the info the better. it's for scallop growth, spawning and population fluctuations over the decades. Tropopause_Fold
monthly averages would work for now, but the more precise the info the better. it's for scallop growth, spawning and population fluctuations over the decades. the monthly averages you can get for free. here's those #s based on the most recent 30yr period (this will update next year IIRC to include the 2000s): NANTUCKET MEM AP (195159) Monthly Totals/Averages Precipitation (inches) Years: 1971-2000 Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec Annual Average 3.86 2.69 3.05 3.18 2.82 2.36 1.71 2.13 2.94 3.17 3.33 4.19 35.43 if you want the actual historical month by month breakdown the northeast regional climate center at cornell university can provide it and it's cheap. you have to contact them directly...here's the link to their contact page: http://www.nrcc.cornell.edu/page_contact.html just tell them you are looking for monthly precipitation totals for ACK going back as far as they have it available. they should be able to put that together for you.
