JoMo
To my untrained eye the 0z RGEM looks similar to the 0z NAM. yep, pretty similar. GFS is out to 6.

Joplinmet
The GFS is a little to warm. The GFS has been running to warm over the past couple of weeks. So disregard the surface and 850 temps. I think the temps will be inbetween what the Nam and GFS say. When we are right no the edge like we are, a lot can change over the next 24 hours. Lets keep watching it. JoMo
GGEM looks more like the GFS, isn't phasing like the NAM either. NAM clown (snowfall) maps are out: http://wxcaster.com/gis-snow-overlays.php3?STATIONID=SGF

Pretty soon we are gonna be saying time to write this thing off looking more and more like nothing now u think so? I guess anything is possible still lol Nam actually came down some on totals up this way.....getting its act together a lil better now? Shows the heavier stuff east of here now....bleh who knows! Joplinmet
Well this year has been so crappy with winter weather, we have to hold on to any hope we can have, lol. It is depressing, but I would be happy with a dusting to 1/2" of snow. We only have a few chances to get accumulating snows all winter long. I will take what we can get at this time. I just got done reading early this mornings disco and it said areas along and east of highway 13 have or had the best chances of seeing snow. Funny because i could chuck a rock and hit highway 13 lol. It looks like the further north and east you go the better it gets....go figure haha. I just dont have a good gut feeling on this one anymore idk Springfield still doesnt sound set in stone....well this morning they didnt anyhow they were saying alot could still change. Whats your thinking jomo?

I told her not to get her hopes up though cause its looking less likely now and definately wont happen on xmas day if it does happen at all. The Waterboy
OK guys, I'm typically the eternal optimist when it comes to snow. Probably because I don't know crap about actual weather forecasting and it's really just a hope and prayer that it will snow. With that being said, I agree this is looking more bleak as we get closer. HOWEVER, I've lived in NWA for 35 years and some of the better winter storms came together at the last minute when the models weren't necessarily predicting it. I'm not saying this will be the case here but at least we can still hold out hope. Maybe it will be our Christmas gift to each other!!! We shall see.... How's that for ignorant, blind optimism? Yea you never know I agree I've seen some crazy things happen with storms in my lifetime so far lol. Anything can change and happen still but it does look bleh at this point. Up this way it seems my best snows come when springfield mention no snow or little chances for it lol. They are 0-3 so far up here on the advisories I have had. Heck one little storm they said a 50 percent chance of snow and it snowed all night and i picked up a nice dusting from it. You just never know. Im hopeing for a xmas miracle at this point. On a side note its 41 outside and still climbing for now!
Wx 24/7
A few flakes flying on Christmas are good enough for me. A light dusting is icing on the cake. I like your optimism Waterboy!

I like your optimism Waterboy! yep me too, well just a few flakes even if it doesn't stick is fine. This is the only area that can somehow get missed by a storm to the south and a storm to the north at the same time, I swear. Springfields afternoon discussion says: OTHERWISE A FESTIVE CHRISTMAS DAY WILL BE ON TAP WITH OCCASIONALSNOW SHOWERS AND BREEZY. MOST OF THE AREA SHOULD SEE A WHITECHRISTMAS. The only job in the world that you can be wrong on and get away with it lol. Hell if temps are above freezing there wont be no white xmas. A white xmas is technically snow on the ground right? I will be happy to see a dusting or even flakes flying. And yea jomo we are always either to far south or to far north.
