I think higher gusts might be headed your way. Here in the Harrisburg area after all the rain we've had and nw these high wind gusts, scanner is going crazy for trees and or lines down.

Gusts to 39 at JFK...im in central nassau county, LI and the winds knocked out my power last night, but im in an apt on a hill about 150 in elevation

I suspect it's a freak consequence of our perfect southern exposure and streets to funnel the wind into, but things are CRAZY here on the southern tip of Manhattan. While walking from end of Broadway to Broad Street along Water Street, I saw ripped awnings, a pedestrian blown over by a gust, and heard sounds you otherwise only see in Josh's hurricane videos. Easily 50+, I'd say more like 60.

I can verify those gusts on the eastern coastline of Bergen county. Maybe a little cliff enhancement going on, lol

Gust to 34 MPH at my station (approx 30 ft off the ground) and nearby weatherbug station gusted to 39 mph (on roof of a school approx 6 stories up)

Winds are getting pretty bad here in Long Beach. I'd estimate 50-55 mph gusts right now. I'm starting to hear the dreaded sirens up and down the streets again like we had during the March noreaster.

So far no major damage, but some larger tree branches are starting to come down. Entire trees won't be far behind if the wind stays like this.

1110 AM TSTM WND DMG N ELKTON 39.60N 75.82W12/01/2010 CECIL MD TRAINED SPOTTER 65 MPH WIND GUST ALONG WITH STRUCTURAL DAMAGE. AWNING BLOWN DOWN, AS WELL AS BACK FENCE AND SHED BLOWN OVER.
